OT: Thoughts for Jay Simpson of PU
yogisballin replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
My 11 year old son has an asthma problem that he never grew out of, and he's into every sport that he can possibly have time for. This is something I would never wish onto any player, even if they play for Purdue. -
I was saying that some kids, not all is asking around on what some of these programs are using because of shoes and maybe the type of style uniforms. We need all the help we can get at this point because I think its pretty clear that we don't have a coach that can take us to the promise land.
-
Thanks! what he said lol
-
Yea, I was trying to say that uniforms win championships. You don't have to go and be a smart@#^...I do feel that these kids look at things like this thought. Is this school Nike or Adidas? I'm not saying every kid out there is worried about nice looking uniforms but alot of them are. Something like this would help, just my opinion big guy

Scouting a potential Crean replacement
yogisballin replied to kylehornsbyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You're only going to have these 2 guys on your list? Stevens wouldn't leave Boston after 1 year, maybe after about 3 years depending on how they're doing and how much heat is there at the time. And with Tim Miles, there isn't enough sample size out there yet. I don't follow Nebraska bball enough to know how his system works and etc. So I would pass, for now. However, it does appear that he knows how to put a program in the right direction. Also an fyi, I was never a big fan of the CTC hire. I remember that day so well. I called my dad and we talked about it. His resume and coaching style was mediocre at best. -
Scouting a potential Crean replacement

I agree, that would be a HUGE step back IMO -
Oh yes we do! Also with new uniforms. We need a update. There are several Universities out there with "tradition" that updates facilities, uniforms etc. We are really behind. Im 31 and I've been a fan since I can remember. Don't remember our last championship in '87. But I remember early '90s (man I miss those days). If I were FD or CTC, I would be pushing really hard for a new arena and other things. I know all you traditionalists are going to lash out but it's true, WE NEED THIS!! Other than 2002 (that was a fluke) our last really good team was what, 1992? Guys it's been nearly 30 years since we've done anything
-
You have a point, i guess. We have been in nearly every game this season. We're not too bad of a team, with some really nice players! We are just VERY limited offensively with 1 perimeter shooter and a guy that's trying to play with his back to the basket but he's a face up type player. and a coach that's also VERY limited with x's and o's
-
don't be sorry, makes you look weak lol
-
He used to play with a chip on his shoulder. Don't think he does nowadays. It may be because his teammates are looking his way for a leader and its just not there. He's a solid role player on the team, he's not "the guy"
-
He's the same as CTC IMO. Wouldn't be gaining much....
