2015 National Championship Game Thread

I re-watched the second half of that game...Coack K is awful. He worked the refs like non other; I despise that man. Three championships have been gifted to Duke; this being one of the most egregious. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Calipari is less of a scumbag than Coach K. -

Wisconsin gave Duke easy layups all half; I'd argue they should have played stronger defense, but they legitimately did not foul. Hence, why Duke had about ten first half layups. In the second half, more of the same...only difference? Referees could now hear Coach K yelling at them every single trip down. At least five foul calls were complete bull. Duke would just run into Wisconsin players and get every single call. And then of course...apparently Duke can step on the out of bounds line and touch the ball last, and still get the ball. Ugh, so frustrated. If Indiana had been in Wisconsin's place I would seriously be looking to write the NCAA about the officiating in the game. I LOVE that Bo called out the officiating in the post game. This game epitomizes why I hate Duke. They did not deserve this game and they were not the better team. -

My lord, the refs handed this game to Duke. Bunch of BS foul calls to keep Duke in the game (I wasn't aware you could run into players and get a foul call), and then, five points on missed out of bounds calls. I HATE COACH K; he's such a POS. Three of his championships have come due to reffing...so sick of it. -

If anyone is willing, please send me a PM as well, would be greatly appreciated. I've tried figuring this out for several months through various vague posts. Regardless, it's too bad it didn't work out with Miller, he was/is a great coach.

Just to confirm, if we get Thon, then we also get his brother, right? Plus, assuming Bryant comes to IU, then we need three additional transfers before next season. Is that correct? -

Anybody else watching the Arkansas vs Wofford game? Refs are actively jobbing Wofford. Terrible officiating. -

For those that missed it, Georgia State's head coach tore his ACL celebrating their conference tournament victory. So, against Baylor, he coached from a stool...and proceeded to fall off of it when they hit the go ahead three...HILARIOUS https://vine.co/v/OYuPJjWlOm7 -
So this is one of the few times I can contribute to one of these conversations with my own "insider information." Back in 2013 the GF and I attended the UM vs IU basketball game in Ann Arbor. Obviously a fantastic game to be at and a heck of an ending. After the game and basking in the euphoria of IU winning its' first big ten title in 20 years, the GF and I decided to try and get on the court (partially to kill time so the parking lot would clear out) but also with the hope of meeting players. Well anyways, we got onto the court and started chatting it up with the grandmother of a starting five player for IU. My GF is very personable and so they hit it right off. Well, she was very forthcoming with information, but perhaps the most interesting tidbit of news I got was this, and paraphrasing the grandmother now: "My grandson says the players really miss Matt Roth, he was the only player that ever spoke up and told Crean he was practicing them too hard. Now, they are worn out before it's time for the game." We chatted a little bit more after that and got a few of the specifics, but that comment really hit home. On a side note, I got to meet my idol that day, Calbert Cheaney...was in heaaaveeennnnn. I grew up idolizing him; and I must say he was amazingly nice and chatted with us for awhile. Always great when your idols turn out to be good individuals in reality. Also got to meet several players, Victor, Hulls, Yogi, Zeller, Hollowell. Anyways, just wanted to share my "insider information."

Not as good as Hitler reacting to the Northwestern loss, but still entertaining (Hitler reacts to Crean not being fired): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVJfE-QEDYA&feature=youtu.be -

I love the quote when the women are consoling each other and she "says": "It's okay, Northwestern has won 4 consecutive. They're not bad." Also, "I respect Crean. I also like Diet Coke." -
OT: Did Calbert Cheaney Party a lot while in the NBA?
Defenserocks28 posted a topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
So I saw this article on Yahoo referencing how J.R. Smith's shooting %s having improved since jumping to Cleveland, due to, as J.R. put it: I think this is the best situation for me, 'cause there's nothing but basketball. There's nothing you expect but basketball. There's nothing, there's no going out, there's no late nights. The article went on to mention that J.R.'s Smith shooting percentages tend to drop in Sunday's games, 42% to 39%, and speculated that partying may have something to do with it. Taking things even further, Harrison Chase at Harvard Sports Analysis Collective created a "party score" where he analyzed the change in a player's Sunday shooting %. He looked at all NBA players that have played since 1974. Full article, and methodology can be found here: http://harvardsportsanalysis.org/2015/01/a-statistical-ranking-of-the-biggest-partiers-in-the-nba/ Anyways, guess whose number 3 on the list..........Calbert Cheaney! Now, I personally don't believe Calbert was a partier, but it's still a fun read even if the results are a bit wacky. Anyone know if Calbert actually did party a lot in college? Or better yet, have an actual party story involving Calbert?? [attachment=1578:Calbert.PNG] -
Naturalhoosier, check out Martyrs if if you're into scary/horror movies . I watch a lot of horror movies and very few freak me out. Martyrs is easily the most disturbing movie I've seen. I literally had to go walk around for about 2 hours after watching this film...just to clear my head. I've seen the Hostel movies, High Tension, Rob Zombie's weird horror movies, Exorcist, etc. None of them hold a candle to Martyrs. This movie is on an entirely different level. Be forewarned, it's not for the faint of heart. Also, the film is French and has subtitles (so that notches the horror up already!)
