  1. If I do my job, I will have the opportunity to start. -Mgbako. I love this quote
  2. I see people crediting JHS for recruiting and that's completely understandable. He has. However, I don't think JHS comes to IU without TJD. That's the leader. I also don't think we get Ware or Mgbako without XJ returning this year. Without Xavier there is nobody to lead this team. The culture has become top notch under Woodson.

  5. Don't listen to Scotty. You should certainly panic and post your emotions! It's my favorite part of recruiting.
  6. Kansas' fanbase is the most pompous group of people. They seem to know nothing about basketball outside of their own team. They're easily my most hated fanbase outside of the Big 10. Eat it turds.
  7. Eric Gordon was #2 in his class I thought behind Derrick Rose

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to INDIANA

Nuggets from today (don't tell Old Fart) Gabe's patented move was to take a pass at the top of the key, then curl around a screen and drain the shot. He's also very proud of his defense. Coach Cupps would get angry after games where he felt the team didn't play the defense he liked so he would spend an entire week's practices on defense with no mention of offense. This built a defensive mindset that Gabe bought into. He apparently prefers defense to offense. Also, when Gabe as a middle schooler would practice against the varsity squad Coach Cupps would tell the team not to take it easy on the kid, play as hard on him as you would a high schooler. This built toughness. Tomorrow I'm one on one with my new hire all day too, let me know what questions you have. I know none of these are earth shattering but I'm hungry in the off season lol

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to INDIANA

I'll remind you that before my mother retired, she worked with John Groce's sister. Those were juicy nugget days. I'm BTB's John Groce/Gabe Cupps expert and you're the Metamucil expert. Know your role

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to INDIANA

I just found out that I'm an insider! I hired a guy at work and his first day was today. We talked a lot in interviews, but today was my first chance to get to know him outside of a business perspective. Turns out he played point guard for Coach Cupps at Centerville! He was a senior while Gabe was in Middle School. Coach Cupps had Gabe play with the varsity team going back to 6th grade at practices, so my new hire has played against him many times. Now I'm an insider, get it? I declare myself the poster with the utmost knowledge on our future PG. I asked my new hire what Gabe's best qualities were and he said shooting and leadership. If he's wrong I'll be glad to fire him. In the meantime, just trust every word I say here. I'm your new king.
  15. I'm not sure any recruits remember what happened when they were 7. And if they google it, nobody won that title. They certainly remember what's happened over the last few years though
  16. Don't forget the whole "their insiders are just guessing" while ours do too lol. This is why recruiting is fun to me. Not the kids who change their minds, the adults who twist their own minds into puzzles to justify their predictions.

    Let's Talk Hockey

Allow me to rant here....I'm going to make a point. I love the one and done format of college basketball and the NFL. It's the playoffs, bring your A game or go home. Yet, I've heard many people (to be fair, not on here) tell me that best of 7 like NBA or MLB always shows the best team in the end. In the NHL, the team with the best overall record in the regular season has not won the title in 11 years. They almost never do. NHL plays best of 7 formats in the playoffs. In the NFL, the one seed wins the Super Bowl 52% of the time. A one and done format. What does this mean? Does a One and Done format truly allow the greatest team to win it all? I would argue yes. Does a best of seven format give the lesser teams a better chance of advancing? This experiment says so. But I'm sure I'm missing something. Or am I? One and done is where it's at in the playoffs.
  18. Is Pitino still offering hookers and blow? That can be a hell of a thing too.

I assume you're talking about the clear high sticking at the end of regulation? Yeah that was BS. Braden Poin's disallowed goal in game 3 was BS too. The fix was in on this series
