When I was in a class for a speeding ticket years ago...a student admitted to hitting a cow.  We all laughed at him because cows aren't fast, then we asked if it messed up his car.  When he told us he was driving a combine at the time it was instantly quiet before blowing up in laughter.  Neither combine nor cow moves more than 2 mph...what the heck?

Billy never said he was born in Allentown, just that he was "living here in Allentown".  I thought I read once that he had lived there for a stretch, now I don't know what to think.  Oh well.   Ccr annoys me for some reason though.  They made their reputation off being a southern rock band, constantly singing about it.  To find out Fogerty was born and raised in Berkley...I'm disappointed.  Posers.   I've seen Mellencamp a bunch.  He used to play Assembly Hall every couple years, they were great shows.  I live in Florida now and he never makes his way down here.

Wait...was John Mellencamp really from a small town?   Billy Joel never lived in Allentown?  You might want to check that one.   And keep that poser Fogerty off my lawn.

I feel like they lied to me.  Born on the bayou?  Dude had never even been to the south when he wrote about growing up there.  It's like an autobiography that was based upon lies.   Or maybe I'm just a cranky old man.

You know Creedence Clearwater Revival?  They sing about how they were "Born on the Bayou"....they're from Berkeley California.  I lost a lot of respect for them today.

There's some truth to this.  But if we do this, shouldn't we go back further to the people forcing the administration the hire him....the players that year?   IIRC, the team insisted that the admins hire either assistant Mike Davis or assistant John Treloar.  Since it was mid September with a season around the corner, who were they going to hire?  The players were upset their coach was fired and they insisted that Davis or Treloar be hired or else they threatened to sit the season.  I know that Dane Fife was a major leader in this.   Perhaps the administration hired the wrong assistant, perhaps Treloar would have been just as bad (looking at his bio now I really doubt it).  The administration was definitely forced by the team and a September firing.   I'm not sure who to blame for all that.  I've definitely held a grudge against Fife, but I'm not sure anybody deserves blame except for Davis himself.  How dare he turn my team into garbage and then blame me.

Agreed.  I won't boo the turd, but I certainly won't cheer him.  I hope we whoop his team by 50.

  You and I watched very differently.  I thought last year Hanner showed that he belongs.  He has range, free throw shooting, hustle....the biggest thing he needs to work on is staying out of foul trouble.  If he can stay in the game he can be a big part of the team.
