  1. Its getting late in the game to fire/retain staff... If he makes it to Christmas I think he will still be on the staff
  2. Diaco (DC for ND) is likely going to become the next UConn coach... May be a good time to pick some of the defensive staff from there... Fingers crossed
  3. Really hoping IU can land Dominique because aside from his immense talent, I think its crucial in building a program to keep in-state talent at the state university.
  4. Saw on twitter the president of IU talked to him today
  5. Orgeron definitely wouldnt come to Indiana. Even if he were to, he wouldn't be a great hire because while he would be a great DC, he would offer no stability and probably leave at the next best opportunity. I firmly believe IU should go after a DL, LB, or secondary coach at OSU, UM, or ND
  6. True. Good point.  I guess I should have included that we have to consistently win 7,8 or so games for this to happen. I think Wilson can be the coach to get the team to that level if the defense gets sorted out.
  7. This is good news. So if I am understanding correctly, IU has an offense that can compete for B10 championships, the defense just has to catch up?    Maybe I am bias because I will be going there, but can anyone explain why it is that IU struggles so much to recruit? It has several good academic programs and an active nightlife. I could see why not a lot of highly rated kids on the coasts would want to go to the midwest, but I don't think theres any reason they cant fill the class with 3*s and low 4* kids from Indiana/Illinois/Michigan/Ohio    EDIT: I understand this isnt a transformation that can happen over night, but around 4 years into a coach's time on campus I don't think thats an unreasonable request.
  8. I find it alarming that there is nothing to speak of on the offensive line. You can have the best QB in the world, if hes running for his life back there hes gonna have a hard time reading defenses and making good throws. Also the offense would have a hard time getting any running game going without a decent OL. Is CKW addressing this?
  9. Thanks this was informative! I can't wait to get more familiar with the program and team.
  10. I'd like to see IU either land someone like Mangino, someone with experience coaching and a dynamic recruiter but a more realistic option is IMO pursuing a position coach at a big midwestern school like Michigan, OSU, or Notre Dame and promoting him to DC. Like Mike Elston the DL coach at ND or Kerry Cooks the CB coach at ND. Someone at these 3 schools are likely to have connections to midwest power house high schools and might take a promotion.
  11. Thats very interesting, not that I know much about the situation but hopefully for the good of the program it happens as you predict. Not that it will ever happen, but Bo Pelini would be a great hire. I doubt anyone will touch him if Nebraska drops him because of his anger problems. Maybe Mark Mangino if he wants to get back into coaching. I'd definitely like to see a big name hire that would get recruits excited.
  12. I might like to see IU reach out to a position coach at a big school to try their hand at being a DC. How much worse could it get than 119/120 right?
  13. What type of offense is run and who are the offensive stars?
  14. I know this guy is legit, Notre Dame had a lot of interest in him early in the cycle. He would definitely be a good pick up.
  15. Thanks a lot johnsoniu! This board is really great, I'm super happy I finally found an active IU forum with a good set up... Look forward to cheering on the Hoosiers with you guys.    Interesting. I would think maybe CWK would look towards someone from the Stoops coaching tree he may have been on the same staff as.
