    TOM CREAN FIRED

After watching last night's game, I am firmly moving Collins up on my wish list for coach. Still behind the big boys but ahead of most others.

Prediction League (Game 23 - Penn State 2/1/17)

IU - 65 PSU - 64 Normally home court gives you an extra 10 points, but Blackmon's injury takes that away. Have a bad feeling we actually lose this one, but just can't make that prediction confidently, nor do I want to.

You have to try, he may say no and that is ok, but you have to at least try it. Just like winning the biggest lottery in history, you can't win it if you don't buy a ticket. The odds of getting Stevens may be the same as hitting the lottery but you have to at least buy the ticket and try.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

Lets Examine for a moment: Dude played PG for 4 years at Duke. Was a total defensive stud. - This doesn't necessarily translate to coaching at all. Doesn't hurt, but doesn't mean he is or will be a good/great coach. Has 15 years of coaching experience directly under the most winning coach in Division 1 basketball history. - Crean was an assistant under Izzo. Point? What you describe you want in a coach is exactly who this guy is so I'm not sure who you think is out there that's got a better resume or knows X's and O's better, but ok. - I don't know enough about him to know if he is exactly what I described because he hasn't been a head coach for that long. There simply isn't the body of work available for him that there are for others. There are other head coaches with equally or greater success, with a proven track record that I would go after first. I would probably put him in the conversation with Norad, Mack but I would put coaches such as Enfield, Holtman, Hoiberg, A Miller, and Collins ahead of him. Look at what Collins has done at Northwestern. Taking a B1G school who has never made the NCAA Tourney and should make it this year. Probably should have made it last year if one or two more things went differently. At a school where recruiting is harder due to academics requirements. Collins is inexperienced too so he wouldn't be at the top of my list but would be on the list before Wojo. I am not saying Wojo wouldn't be on my list, and maybe I exaggerated how far down I would put him but he would not be at the top of my list and I feel if we have to go past our dream 2 and then our top 5, then this program is in worse shape then we all think. But, just to erase any doubt, if we did hire him and IF he is what you say he is, I would not be upset because he would be an upgrade from CTC at the very least.

He may be on the list, but that list better be long with his name near or at the bottom. Still a lot of options that are better than him at this point and if we got down to that part of the list then so be it, but it should not even get that far. Wojo may have beaten the defending national champs, but Crean also beat Kansas and North Carolina and CTC is who we want gone because he's just not a very good coach so your point is taken with a grain of salt. I'm not arguing that he should not be on the list, but I wouldn't put him near the top when there are many others who have better resumes and experience. Personally, what I want in our next coach is someone who adjusts his game plan for the team he is playing based on the team he has. Someone who understands X's and O's and runs a successful half court offense but still likes to get out in transition. A coach who gets the most out of his players regardless of their talent level and uses his players to their strengths. With the recruiting base IU has, these items will make IU a success year in a year out in my opinion.

    OG out for the season

He made his decision really quick last year if I remember correctly so I don't think he did any of the pre-draft stuff. It seams like he came out a day or two after the UNC loss and stated he wasn't going anywhere. I could be wrong so someone correct me if I am but this is how I remember it.

    OG out for the season

I agree with the exception of he was not projected to be an NBA talent prior to coming to IU (like some of the UK players that got hurt prior to draft). I just don't know if the scouts have seen enough from him (overall body of work) to take a chance on him at this stage and if he can't participate in pre-draft workouts and such, he can't showcase what you mentioned. He did not play a whole lot last year until the very end and started off this season not playing that well, and no one knew about the groin injury until Crean finally mentioned it so we all just left to wonder why he was playing terrible. Again, he has the potential, but not sure he has showed enough to the scouts yet, to take a position on him.

    OG out for the season

Looks like DraftExpress moved OG to the 2018 Draft (Mock) I personally still think he is back for next season due to the injury. I thought he might be back next year even before the injury due to how he was playing this year (even though he was starting to come around). But, his shooting has been atrocious this year compared to last year. I can't imagine his draft stock was helped in anyway this season so far and he wasn't even starting prior to the injury because he wasn't playing that well. He has the potential but needs more time and the injury re-enforces that even more in my opinion.

    OG out for the season

Its just one Mock (and not sure how credible the source is) but accourding to Draft Express.com OG not projected to be in the draft (no 1st or 2nd round). Bryant projected 21st
