Well, I was hoping for my posts to appear back to back but some one had to go a ruin the fun. Guess I should have quoted myself. I don't have a great feeling about where the program is headed, but hoping that's just the indigestion talking!

Crean leads IU to 16 losses! Unacceptable at Indiana University! Anyone and I mean ANYONE who can defend this is delusional and has lost the standards that IU should adhere to. A down year should be a 8-10 seed in the NCAA tourney. Not a NIT 1st round loss in which we gave away a home game to a team that the coach was willing and did pay for all students who wanted to attend the game. It's embarrassing to the University, a University that I graduated from. Some people are fans because they just love IU or loved watching IU in the Knight years and that is awsome and absolutely nothing wrong with that! Others, are fans because it's where we went to school, it's who and what we love. It's our pride and enthusiasm for our school. The reason for the largest student section in college bball. It's Indiana, It's Indiana, It's Indiana! and it should mean something! It's beginning to lose that and that's why fans and students alike are in an uproar. The coach is simply not good enough. He has maxed out HIS talent. He has gone as far as HE can go, but not as far as THIS University NEEDS to go and absolutely CAN go with the right leadership. So for all you Media type, all you Crean apologists, all those who think there is nothing wrong and Crean should not be fired, open your eyes, use your brain, restore the standards that this University used to be about and should be about again. Restore this University to the Blueblood status it used to be. Don't accept Mediocrity! The same issues that were present day 1 of the Crean era are still present today. We have better talent than day 1 but the problems haven't changed or gotten any better. And no sign of them getting better or changing. Crean stated last night he has to get better, the players have to get better. Crean hasn't gotten "better" in 9 years with the issues that plague him. Turnovers, Defense, Half-Court Offense, Substitutions, Game Flow, and 2nd Half Adjustments. Players will get better when they are coached to get better. 2 decent years out of 9 is simply not good enough. 2 decent years out of 6 simply isn't good enough. Missing the tournament 2 out of 4 years is UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for reading! Have a great day and may the future of IU be bright again! Who cares who the replacement is in the decision to fire Crean. Crean needs to go because he has maxed out HIS talent here and it isn't good enough. Then you find a replacement. Will the replacement be better, maybe, maybe not but it will re-energize the fan base and doners. If the next coach doesn't live up to IU's standards then we try again until we find the coach that will get us in the NCAA regularly and consistently, compete for B1G championships, and Compete for NAtional Championships every few years. A down year for IU should be a 9 or 10 seed, not NIT 1st round loss. As far as potential candidates, no one knows for sure who they might be but the Rumored names have been Stevens (who said no), Donovan (depending on who's source you listen to, is still in talks with IU about coming, issues are with timing or after talks things didn't work out, S. Miller, S. Alford (Interest is mostly on Steves side), T. Bennet, A. Miller, (those were the rumored interest on IU's part, except Alford) and other realistic names thrown out but Hoosier fans include Holtman, Marshall, Mack, Collins and some others. I know exactly what you are talking about, I'm just saying, I've read almost every post in this thread and I don't think the "Tank" comments have been very noticeable at all. If they start taking over, then I agree but no need to be a nit pick police unless it gets out of control and it hasn't even come close to it, in my opinion. I agree with you but yours happens to be at least the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen someone make the post and just don't think its necessary at this point. That's all, no biggie.

C'mon, if the comment is about this game, just because it involves Crean doesn't mean it has to go to the other thread. Some of these comments are very valid comments. Now I agree, don't get off on a tangent and have a back and forth conversation about it, but when it involves this specific game and happens to be an example of why, its very relevant.

Wow, would have thought it was much longer, we really didn't play a non con tourney that year? Thanks for all who responded!

I feel at this point we are a lock for the NIT, but when is the last season, IU has not played in any kind of tournament non conference or post season? (not counting the B1G because you don't have to be invited to that one and it happens every year)

Didn't he offer someone a scholly like 2 or 3 weeks ago?

Starting to feel better considering I haven't seen anything in the press about an actual press conference today at 6:00. However, if he was announced as gone prior to a Home NIT game, he would be cheered. If nothing is announced, it could be VERY ugly. If you are waiting on Donovan before announcing anything, leak the information so you don't see the hostile crowd at the home NIT game. Get enough of the right people talking to make the fans feel comfortable during the NIT.
