Same starting line up from last game

Probably not but it might be worth a shot to not remember what happened lol!

Please just win tonight! I am already exhaust, work doesn't end for another hour and a half, son has archery practice and cub scouts after school and its a 9pm game. Oh I need caffeine and probably some bourbon to make it! Lord help me!

I have experienced both ends of the spectrum unfortunately and the worst leaders I ever had came at the worst time in my career. I injured my back in overseas, was having trouble walking, and had no business being in country after the incident. I was accused of faking, put on crap details and shifts for over 3 months before I was released from theater and medically retired. A few months after my my battalion returned from overseas, a buddy from the unit passed away. I attended the funeral walking with a cane and one of my former leaders made a derogatory comment under his breath about me and yes I heard it, as did my wife. At that moment was probably the lowest I had ever felt, to have a former leader trash you, in front of your spouse because you couldn't continue mission. Just because you wear the rank doesn't mean you deserve it and just because you get stellar remarks on NCOER (that is a non-commissioned officer evaluation report for those not familar), does not mean you are a leader. I don't know if Woody has been waiting for someone to step up, but with the comments he made last night, it kind of sounds like it. I don't think X would do the job or not. I like him, think he has had some fairly good moments this year, but the ability for opponents to get in his head will not help him lead at all! You have to lead by example and that's why I say Galloway. I think Trey does a pretty good job of trying to lead by example. I don't think there has been a game this season, where you can say that Trey didn't give it everything within his current limitations. You are probably right about elder team members being in the way of him fully stepping up. Another player that could step up and lead is Race. But he could be one of the one's that Woody was potentially waiting on to take the lead. Of course leadership is not the only thing that this team is in need of, but to have the coach of a P5 team public commenting on things such as leadership, buying in, suspending players in the middle of conference play, it really puts things into perspective on the current state of the team.

Unfortunately, this is one thing that coach will likely never solve this season. Being a leader is something very difficult to teach. Ask anyone who has served about leaders. Some soldiers have it naturally and are some of the best leaders to serve under. Some dedicate themselves to learning to become leaders and do a decent job. And finally you can have the most squared away, best soldier in a division that flat out can't do it and cannot be taught to do it, but are made a leader any way and things go bad, real bad! There have been several comments this season that this team lacks an alpha. I think the closest thing to a leader this team has is Galloway. His constant energy and unwillingness to give up are some good characteristics of a leader, I just don't think he is quite there yet. Will he ever become a true leader of this team, who knows, we aren't privy to behind the scenes, but the leader doesn't have to be the best player on the team.

I would say he has to be frustrated with the officiating, hell all of us and tons of other fan bases are as well! Every fan base is constantly complaining on social media, yes I know it occurs in every conference but at least most of the SEC games are watchable. For the life of me I do not understand how the conference leadership cannot see it as well. 21 almost 22 years without a National Title for the B1G and there is a pretty clear reason why the B1G is as unsuccessful in the Tourney. Slow, plodding, half-court, beat the crap out of each other basketball does not do any B1G team any favors in March. Bo Boroski should be banned from any B1G games, FOREVER! I know I can get my hopes up a little too often, I can't help it I'm a CBB fan, but I was really hoping when Delany retired we would see some changes.

Its a brutal article for sure, but it is the truth! There have been multiple conversations in game threads making similar points. Something has to be figured out!

The offense will never be fixed as long as the ball goes to TJD in the post and he stands there for what seems like an eternity before making any move. By the time he figures out, oh crap there is 3 defenders, we are so deep into the shot clock it doesn’t matter if the ball comes back out. We have to stop with the post focus and run something other than a perimeter weave. It’s great to have an inside presence like we have but for that to be the focus is like running on first down every drive all season long, guess what the defense knows what is coming! Even Woody seemed to acknowledge it in the post game. He said, paraphrasing, that even if the back court moves while Trayce has the ball in the post the defenders don’t move with the cutter, we are going to have to do something about that. Yeah cause they know the ball isn’t coming out and they stay there to dig on TJD!

There should be a limit to how many times a fan base is subject both Bardo and Boroski! It seems like he is the ref of almost all our games!

I will say at least Durr has shown the ability to shoot, but it’s a shame that he is so limited in many other areas especially speed.

I am hopeful that a change comes, can’t keep starting flat and playing from behind. Please just split up Stewart and Kopp! I still think we may see a different line up due to Chicago-fest (like the name).

I wasn't trying to go outside perspective, I was just stating that I hope that it doesn't drive a wedge between them. We do not need any more mental challenges this season. Do I hope that is angered some to make them hold others accountable and embarrass the 5 into not being stupid for the rest of the season, absolutely! Like I said it was just a thought that keeps coming up.

Ok, I am simmering down a little. One thing that keeps popping up in my mind is that I hope the stupidity of the 5 yesterday does not create resentment. The guys that played their a$$ off last night took a beating with the amount of minutes especially Trey, Race, and TJD. Trey was visibly upset at the end of the game, there is a photo of TJD after the game sitting on the bench by himself with his head in his hands, and at one point during the game Kopp was walking to the bench at a timeout screaming at what looked like one of the 5. To go through that game, lose, and then go home to what I would expect to be a hell practice, it could go bad. I really hope it doesn't!

Well I got called out for stating I was over TJD. So there is that.

I didn't mean to sound so negative last night, I am generally fairly positive. Last night sent me over the edge a little. I was already frustrated with TJD, see beginning of the thread, then came the stupidity of the 5, and then TJD has another one of those games. In fact, I am still fairly angry. Teams have now figured out how to take TJD out of the game. Pack the post and stand your ground, he will look at the 2-3 open players and just go up against 2-5 defenders. I don't understand it, it frustrates the crap out of me. Yeah, I know guys are not hitting 3s all that great, but the few times that the ball came out of the post last night when the shooter was square to the basket, they hit it. There are serious fundamental issues going on with this team. Each of Leal and Kopps missed 3s they were not square to the basket, turning as they caught the ball and moving into a shooting motion. I am at a loss, and the 5 guys was the icing on the cake.

Coach said he didn't know, would think about it on the way back to Bloomington. I guess we will see.
