More former players starting to comment

At this point it doesn't matter if what happened in the NW game is true or not. As I said last night in the game thread, MK appears to be a headcase now. You take the NW situation, look at the Instagram comments (MK was really the only one taking shots at people), his in game demeanor, his lack of defense and shot attempts, you have to bench him. This is becoming a distraction, which this team needs no part of.

I am pretty sure that everyone's man at some point hit a 3 last night? Well not all but only 4 players for PSU didn't attempt a 3 of which all but one were in the game at garbage time. Gunn may not be there defensively yet, but he seemed to be putting more effort into it than the majority of the rest of the team.

Well that would probably have not helped last night as PSU was on fire from 3 and they would have continued to just shoot over it.

I can't find the clip I saw last night, but there was a clip on twitter PSU inbound play under the basket. Miller jogs to the corner to set up on defense on his guy, as he is getting set hes watching something else while his guy takes off behind him. By the time he realizes, his guy is nearly to the other corner. Just like the screen the screener plays, he was not paying any attention to his guy and left them wide open. We need to reset our defensive strategy to the basics, see your guy, stay on your guy. We switch and help way too much, and most of our guys can't keep up. No more helping on drives with guards or wings, let them drive, we have rim protectors for a reason. Overall, pay attention to your man on defense, move your feet, keep it simple!

Maybe Woody has reached his last nerve. You know he heard about all the social media crap and so on. Maybe this is just the next step. Maybe idk.

I didn’t want to do it, but I listened to CMW postgame. Tired of the that’s on me, however, color me shocked that he actually called JG and Kopp out. Will it help probably not, as I posted earlier I think Kopp is a headcase at the moment and I’m not sure Woody will bench him at all.

I just can’t comprehend how we have virtually the same team from last season that was at the top of the league defensively and this is what we have this year! WTF? Kopp is a complete headcase, won’t defend, won’t shoot, but likes to get snippy on the ol social media. I know the results won’t likely change but at this point start JHS, Gunn, Gallow, MR, and TJD and bring LD, Bates, Banks, and Tonight’s version of JG off the bench until X and Race potentially come back. After seeing some clips of Kopp from the game tonight not even noticing the guy he was guarding took off, to the multitude of times he helped when no help was needed, and 3 shot attempts I don’t even want to see him dressed for a game anymore. Idk.. d@mn I’m mad, thought I was mad after going to the NW crap show, honestly just unbelievable. also why were the postgame interviews video calls?

Why the F did Kopp help there?

Thats why I didn't know what to say and this guy is apparently involved with scheduling and has or still does evaluate refs. Typical B1G official response to any negativity, well its not us, its them. He mentioned that the conference drops the hammer on refs that miss obvious rules and will suspend them for a game or 2 to hit them financially (refs paid $3.5-4K a game according to Rick). Well if that is true than I want to see the official punishment for the refs with the Fran incident the other night!

Anyone listen to Rick Boyages talking about officiating? don’t know what to really think about his comments, but as the Associate Commissioner of Mens Basketball for the B1G, he blames the coaches for the differences between B1G and other conferences. Says that all B1G refs officiate other conferences all the time and they don’t control our conferences preference to tackle basketball. Let’s see who would he be specifically talking about?

Very true that they didn’t play those teams, however, in games against ranked opponents (USC 10th, Oregon 15th, Washington 12th, Utah 8th) OS only allowed 2 sacks. Was just comparing those teams since there is interest from their QB. And I thought that was a fairly decent stat.

IU, Oregon State, St. Louis Cards. At least Oregon State went to a bowl game at least and kicked the crap out of Florida, so I guess I got that going for me,lol.

absolutely over the JG experiment. Don’t care if he plays another game. Also tired of TJD getting beat on defense and him just going for the block! Every time he does it it left a NW player open to receive a pass for a wide open shot or get the rebound. Absolutely tired of the lazy passes, tired of half hearted effort from upperclassman. The only 2 that showed up with energy were JHS and Gunn, still took awhile for others to join in. Also, I don’t know if you could see it on tv, but we were getting r@ped under the basket in the first half with not one d@mn whistle. Second half I ran out of fingers and had to start counting on my toes for the amount of NW travels. Why can we not get a home whistle against anyone? Does the B1G not want us back in the top of the conference? only the second loss I have ever been to and it sucks more in person cause know I’m stuck in the parking lot venting on a chat board!

Not being negative against the new additions, being negative against the staff. Like I said these 4 could end up being great players, but I am overly disappointed that the focus seems to be on positional players and not what this team really needs. We have to find an O-line that will allow the QB more than a millisecond to either get rid of the ball or escape the pocket. this years team allowed 39 sacks for a loss of 305 yards. Averaged 3.4 yards per carry! Just for comparison, Oregon State, where potential transfer QB Nolan played, allowed 14 sacks for a loss of 103 yards and averaged 4.9 yards per carry this year, 14 sacks for a loss of 114 yards and 5.3 yards per carry the year before. Our numbers for ‘21, 29 sacks for 169 yds and 3.2 yds per carry. Oregon States record the last 2 years 10-3 and 7-6. Ours 4-8 and 2-10.

I guess it really shouldn’t shock me all that much but the social media/media reactions to the new editions has blown me away. It’s almost beyond being gullible. Seriously, yes the additions could prove to be nice but how has there been not any attention given to our biggest priority (not qb). I’ve seen Allen digging in his bag of tricks, IU football is back, No need to apologize for getting off….we welcome you back on the #IUFB train. Christ will this fan base ever learn and stop falling for the hype!

So would this be considered as bad as a loss as ours in Iowa? Wisky getting thumped by a team the was in complete disarray just a few days ago!
