WTH is going on? First the odd announcement that Woody is back, now Liam, what is getting ready to happen, bad things always come in threes!

As the resident Oregon St grad, things have not went well for the Beavers this season (yeah both of my teams sucked this year), but I will say Pope can put defenders on skates. He is only 6'2", but is their best player and is capable of dropping a lot of points in a game (30 against Stanford). I haven't watched enough to get a good read on his defense, west coast games and early mornings don't really work for me.

My kids, born in 2012 and 2017, both love to go to games with me, hell my son is fighting with his sister right now to go with me on Sunday, but they are only fans because of me. My son walked in when Wisconsin took the lead in the 2nd half and said Ugh why does IU have to suck so bad. My heart sank cause I really didn't know how to explain to an 11 yo why IU sucks so bad without sounding like a conspiracy theorist. I want them to experience what I did growing up. I was very young but I vaguely remember the '87 Championship because we all went to my grandparents to watch the game and my family was going nuts. I definitely remember the early 90s and met several players at different basketball camps, still have my little IU Looney Tunes shirt signed by Pat Graham and Steve Hart.

I am at a loss, I just don't understand how there can be so many in the media jumping aboard the let's move on train, all of the smoke flaming from "insiders," and not have one single statement from Dolson, Buckner, or anyone at IU. Just an article by Osterman? I have come to terms that he will be back next year, but nothing about what has transgressed in the last 24 hours makes any sense. I'm not on Peegs, but to hear everything that was coming out from him, then to hear the podcast he did right before the game last night, you would have never believed he said any of that stuff. I didn't mean for it to sound that those guys opinions changed, just the overall rumor of current players abandoning ship. Just all the being run over by the bus in the pressers?

@Chris007 I brought this up earlier, maybe you have some insight. TJD, RT, and MK all seemed to love CMW and now the news of abandoning the ship. Any idea on the reason behind the dramatic shift, other than the dismal season?

He has to have a plan, otherwise this is a death sentence for his career at IU. At minimum, he has his guy, price, and probably has a couple of BOT members up his sleeve. This is a calculated move if all the smoke from the last couple days started with him.

There was an amendment in the contract that says that IU can pay a lump sum of $1mil a year until their obligation is fulfilled and that Woodson must search for work...

In a perfect world, yes you build around them, but this world is not perfect and something has happened between the players and coach (if the rumors are in fact true) to set things on fire. I can only speculate what has happened between them. It always seemed as though TJD, RT, and MK had nothing but love for Woody; definitely does not seem that way with the current roster.

Well that is one way to try to get out in front of the wall.

In addition to Galloway, I saw a post today that says everyone but Cupps is rumored to be heading to the portal if Woody stays.

It seems that the proverbial "leashes" for IU media coverage have been released in the past couple days.

I am not turning on the team, I said I was attending. And the turbulence is in many more places than chat boards, just take a look at X, FB, or any other social media platform. Our fan base is massive and well connected to the current state of the program. Like I said in a previous post, I was late to the fire Woody train. I was still holding on to the hope that things could turn around, like the past 2 seasons, but it won't. I will watch Wed night, and be at AH on Sunday just as I always do to support the team (players) because I actually like most of them, but I have no faith in the coaching staff anymore.

He won't see half the roster in the portal as a negative, because his buddy pulled the ultimate hat trick of keeping TJD for 2 seasons in a row. He did it once, he can do it again, right?
