That was a great article. That happens in the Big Ten as well. Didn't Kentucky buy Kent Benson's Dad a new tractor or combine when they were recruiting him? -
Spring Practice Highlights/Interviews
upperarlington replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Thanks Nick-sounds like the D has made great strides this year. -
Yes the interview with Knorr and Wilson reaffirms that the talent is there. Just being consistent and not giving up the big play. They really like the enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Knorr sd they need to slow down the installation of the new D.

What is your favorite thing about IU?

I was a Phi Kappa Psi at the top of the hill on North Jordan. It was great being in a house with 85 guys as there was always something to do. At a big school like IU, it helps to have a common bond with a lot of guys. Just pledge the house you fell most comfortable in. Dan Dakich lived in our house so we used to get good scoop on the inner workings of the basketball team. All the Greek houses sit together usually with the sororities at football games and we never missed a game. The first year we were 0-11! I started out with the intention to major in Business but didn't meet the required GPA in my core classes so I went SPEA with a lot of other people in the same boat I was in. Don't get too caught up with "I have to get in to Kelly Business school or I won't have a chance to get a good job" mentality. I have been in sales and banking jobs since graduation and my IU degree prepared me well. One of the coolest classes to take when I was there was Coach Knight's coaching basketball class. It was always sold out, so I never got in, but if you were 1 minute late to class, you weren't getting in the door that day as he locked it at 9 am sharp. Best advice I have is to go to class, ask for help from your professors as most are willing to help. Take some electives that are out of your major, One semester a buddy of mine took, History of Rock and roll, drug use in American society and a sex history class offered. So he actually studied sex, drugs and rock and roll that semester. The history of The Beatles was also offered. -

My five years on campus in the 80's were great. Won an NCAA title in soccer, basketball. Was in a fraternity and I still keep in contact with those guys today. The spring break trips we went on to Florida were wild. I guess I miss the camaraderie of a close knit campus, the coeds, and the sheer beauty of walking through the older part of campus on a fall or spring day taking in the sights. You don't appreciate it as much when you are there as an undergrad but I have great memories of B-Town. The nightlife is awesome as well. Just go to class and study Sunday thru Thursday at least! -

My Dad bought my mom a brand new 65 Mustang for her 40th birthday. Paid 2500 for it. The Cleveland area snowfalls decimated the body into rust over the years.

I think we'll see a difference this year. You keep telling guys they are ranked near the bottom and they may start to accept that fact.

Grew up in Cleveland but a Detroit fan. Suffered through many years before 1984 Series win.

I keep seeing Waynedriko Smith got dropped due to not having the required GPA. Any truth to that?
