You are correct...losing my mind ha-ha. And as someone will point out I am sure, it is actually even spelled Sidney.

Honestly, at this point I get the feeling we won't see Rob until after the Michigan game, and may not see Race the rest of the year. Amazing because it seemed that Rob had a very minor collision, did not anticipate him missing this much time. Keep in mind, Sidney Crosby missed an entire year in the NHL with a concussion. Race's situation must have been bad.

That is absolutely terrifying. I know times were different, but man...Obviously you were just working on your knuckle ball and taking the long way home.

ALLEN thinking of turning over defensive coordinator duties to someone else.

Just saw where Kansas hired Les Miles. Wonder if he will have success there without being able to recruit like he did at LSU. Still nice to see a program make the big move to try to improve their program... -
Tre Roberson - Chicago Bears

Hmm...playing cornerback in the CFL. Was it ever discussed for him to play defense here? (honestly..so long ago I had forgotten about him entirely). -

IUBB vs UT Arlington - Tues., 11/20 @ 7:00 ET

With guys gassed, I’m baffled that Cliff or Jake didn’t see the floor tonight, even for short bursts. Not very encouraging for a guy in his second season. Still hopeful he can develop over the next 2+ seasons to see time his junior or senior year. -
Indiana @ Minnesota Game Thread 10/26 8:00PM ET FS1
monskisprodigy replied to ThompsonHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
After 3 decades of watching IU football and not missing a game, I can honestly say I don’t really care if I see another one this season. I just find it hard to believe that an AD of a power 5 conference can watch IU football and not be absolutely embarrassed. I mean embarrassed enough to make drastic changes and commitments to a program. He’s an alumni for Goodness sakes. Why do we HAVE to settle for mediocrity? Why does that have to be our story? Blows my mind that this administration is just okay with the product. Year after year we settle for a rinse and repeat strategy, and expect a different outcome...or maybe that’s just it, the only ones expecting a different outcome are the fans. Clean house, and find leadership that wants to bring true change, because an AD and President only committed enough to hire a DC who’s not getting a whiff of any HC jobs to lead the program into the future isn’t working. Who would have guessed? -

We all know Indiana football is the definition of insanity....yet every spring we convince ourselves this season will be different haha. I REALLY like Allen as a man, but realistically with these results how many seasons does he get? At what point do we admit hes in over his head? oh wait...that insanity thing. -
Hadn’t heard this yet. Is there actually any truth to this?

Allen was the correct choice
monskisprodigy replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
1. Thank you for the correction on the endzone, was not aware it didn't add any seats... 2. I think he would do just fine, seeing as Bielema won 3 big ten championships while HC at Wisconsin and has a 97-58 overall record as a head coach. I believe his first two losing seasons ever came at Arkansas. -
Allen was the correct choice
monskisprodigy replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
A lot of emotions here regarding CTA, but I think the thing that irritates me the most is that instead of investing the $ and going after a proven HEAD COACH, not a coordinator, we instead will spend millions to fill in the horseshoe to add more seats that we cannot fill. I understand we are not a football powerhouse, but I have to ask the question...with all of the recent SEC coaches getting the ax, are there any that we feel we could realistically have a shot at pulling in? Say we did decide to part ways with Allen after 1 year, would a Brett Bielema or any others actually give us a look? Not sure we have the $ to pony up, as we didn't even match what Wilson was making for CTA when he took the job. If Glass didn't feel he was worth what Wilson was getting paid, should he be leading the program? With that being said...defense has seen vast improvement, but I just don't see Allen having anything that will enable him to have better long term recruiting success than any of the other coaches who have stepped foot in Bloomington...but I hope I am wrong. -

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
monskisprodigy replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's funny right? The way some on here talk about him, you'd think he was a sub 10 points a game guy who had no shot at playing professional ball. I'm not saying JBJ is gods gift to earth, but the kid is one of the best scorers in the big ten, and will make lots of money playing professionally at some level, whether that's as a niche knock down shooter in the NBA, or overseas. We would be foolish not to welcome JBJ back with open arms for another season. -
Tom Crean Press Tour 2017
monskisprodigy replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
What a great interview with Crean. This is a FCTM that we didn't get to hear, especially in the last couple years. Candid, real and insightful into his plans, what he hopes for the program etc. It really sounds like he wants to be a part of the program moving forward and able to come back in the future. Wish this man nothing but the best in whatever he does, and loved that he told the guys that no one can take away their accomplishments, and to go do it again, because he is going to. -
Was thinking about this on the way to work this morning. What's also most concerning to me, is that in the last 17 years, we have done a terrible job building/developing a loyal player alumni base. Players over the past 17 years have in most cases either transferred, suffered through sanctions, been kicked off, had their coach fired, suffered a rebuild or experienced lackluster/under performing seasons here. The strong alumni base from Knight's glory days are only getting older, and soon we will find ourselves in a situation where we have very little alumni player support from the past two decades, outside of watford, vic, hulls and cody. This to me is a huge area of importance moving forward and cause for concern regarding the stability of our program.

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)

Agreed. Was just sharing what I had heard first hand from a coach with a player being recruited by Crean and his conversations with other coaches in the state. -
Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)
monskisprodigy replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I have heard first hand that this is true. Word is that HS Coaches in the state feel like they have to "coddle" Crean when he comes to visit/watch players. High maintenance is the other word I have heard used. -
You are correct. Pulled that straight from the IWU website haha. They may need to adjust that. Still. Wonder when a D1 school is going to give him a call.
-
Not saying he will ever get a look, but I am surprised that Greg Tonagel's, Indiana Wesleyan, name does not get throw around for any high D1 spots. Although it is NAIA Division II, the guy has proven he can coach and win. He also has been successful in getting kids with D1 scholarships/opportunities to come play NAIA ball. As far as up and coming Coaches, seems like he should be right at the top of the list IMO. In his 11 season as a head coach, Tonagel has already led Indiana Wesleyan to two national championships (2014 & 2016), five Elite Eight finishes, and eight Crossroads League regular season championships, including seven straight from 2009-15. Tonagel's teams have spent time in the NAIA top-five in each of the last 10 seasons and he was National Coach of the year twice. Despite being a head coach for only 11 seasons, Tonagel is already the winningest coach in the program’s history. He has the highest winning percentage (.784), most wins (301), most postseason victories (21), most national tournament appearances (9), and most Crossroads League regular season championships (8). Prior to his current position, Tonagel served as Director of Basketball Operations at Valparaiso University, where he played in four NCAA Tournaments. He also led his LaPorte High School team to the last single class state finals in 1997

Seems like it keeps getting worse for UL. Article also mentions that OSU is confident that Lyle won't face any punishment for involvement while on his recruiting trip. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25331355/ex-louisville-recruit-jaquan-lyle-confirms-escort-allegations-for-ncaa

Saw on twitter where A.J posted a picture of a hand written letter from Max Bielfeldt. See a transcript of the letter below: "Mr. Guyton, My name is Max Bielfeldt. I grew up in Peoria my entire life and played in your basketball camps over the summers. I'm not sure if you have heard, but I decided to transfer for my 5th year from Michigan to play at IU for my final year of eligibility. I wanted to apologize for everything you have had to deal with as an alumni of this university, and I wanted to personally tell you that I will do everything in my power to lead this team from within to make you proud to cheer for the Hoosiers without any distraction. I understand that this basketball program is special, and it is an honor to be a part of this storied tradition, even if it is only for 9-10 months. If you have any advice on what this program needs, or even just want to grab lunch when I'm home in Peoria, don't be hesitant to call or text. My number is (308)-370-XXXX. Go Hoosiers! Sincerely, Max Bielfeldt" I wonder if Coach is having the guys write a bunch of these to former players?
