Good question...would also be curious to know how this affects APR.

I admit, the video does not look nearly as bad as it did in person. From my seats, it seemed clear it was done in a mocking manner, but we can argue this until the cows come home. The timing was very odd and awkward, and an assistant chased him down the hand shake line and drug him to a seat. I am not bringing this up because Devonte is an easy target as some have said. I am bringing this up because we have serious issues, including team chemistry / player attitude, and this fits that mold. I for one have never bashed him on this site, and truly want him to succeed, because we have seen the flashes of a player that can make a difference. But I am going to call out negative attitude whenever I see it, regardless of who the player is. Now regarding Justin, this is what I pointed out in my initial post. My wife literally only watched him the entire game, and noticed all of the items you point out in your post. His attitude was the worst I have seen in some time.

All, had meant to post last night, but fell asleep on the couch....My biggest take away from the game, and what I saw from my seats, was the negative attitude and body language of Green, but specifically Justin. At one point in the first half, he was taken out after a short stint, walked to the bench, didn't give any high fives, tossed a towel back at the manager in disgust and sat and sulked...Other times he was visibly pissed off that he was being subbed out, and not engaged in the game or with his teammates on the bench. At one point, we had a great stretch, in which the bench was cheering and excited, and he sat stone faced. It was so bad, my wife even commented that all she could do was watch him while on the bench... Additionally, there was a stretch where Green tried to do a fancy layup on an alley oop that led to a turnover, and was immediately taken out. He ran to the bench, high fived the whole team and even tried to chest bump Hunter. You could tell it was in a mocking manner. In multiple other instances, he was arguing with the coaches, specifically Bruiser Flint. Those two sat next to each other on the bench, and their body language compared to others, who didn't even get in the game mind you, was glaringly negative.

One of the worst collapses I’ve ever witnessed. A little pressure, sped them up and they were rattled. No one on that UL team wanted the ball in their hands.
-
Haha maybe I just haven’t noticed this in other games. But it’s all I can see now. Maryland bench way out on the court celebrating.
-
Anyone else notice Maryland’s bench players literally way out on the court every time they score? Some kid with a towel is way out there swinging it around. Surprised the refs are allowing it.

When the thought, "Will we ever be good again?" starts to creep into your mind...you know you are in a dark place. Well atleast our schedule gets easier from here on out! Wait a minute....Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan State...Oh boy.

In the last four home games, we have led for a COMBINED 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Let that sink in... Maybe the worst shooting team I have ever witnessed. Lack an overall toughness and junk yard dog mentality that is required to win in the big ten. I am an Archie supporter, and think he will ultimately succeed here, but I have to admit I am noticing some very questionable things regarding in game adjustments, play calls (especially out of timeouts, out of bounds) and choices regarding rotation. I think it is apparent that for us to win, Davis has to be healthy and playing. The offense moves much differently when he is in the game, and having a big man who can distribute like he can in the high low is key.

Do we know if Race made the trip?

What was the roster make up of those teams? Genuinely interested to see what they looked like. I agree that we have several areas for concern, but we are a relatively young team and injuries have plagued us and forced us to call on guys that just aren't ready. -
We are actually worse than I thought we were. Going to be a sad March, again. Will have to find another underdog to root for.
-
The only thing worse than losing to Rutgers, is having to watch the same Anime Commercial over and over again during timeouts on BTN2GO...
-
Would have been a great game for Race to get some minutes...but the kid is continuing his injury/illness progression. Season ending injury, to concussion, to flu, to tooth ache, to hang nail. We should get him back in the Big Ten Tournament. In all seriousness though, was really hoping to see him tonight, let him get minutes and hopefully give us some run against MSU.

With all the focus on the current losing streak, I deciding to do a little digging. I went back to Knight's first season, and noted any losing streaks greater than 4 games, to see how often it had occurred from the 71-72 season through the 17-18 season. In total, it has occurred 15 times (Two seasons with multiple 4+ game streaks in the same season), with the largest losing streaks occurring under Crean, at 11 games. As we are all painfully aware, we had losing streaks of both 10 & 11 games in his first year, 11 games in year number two and 6 & 9 games in year three. Mike Davis saw four total seasons with a losing streak of 4 games or more, with the highest being his 04-05 Season at 6 games. Knight had a total of 4 seasons with losing streaks of 4 or greater games, with the largest occurring in the 71-72 season (5 games). Anyways, thought it was interesting, and I had some downtime during lunch. -
With all the bad news, thought i'd bring something positive. Just saw where Archie announced Race has been cleared for full contact. Not quite ready to play, but could be seeing game action very soon.

After 24 hours away, I’ve stepped off of the ledge that Saturday almost pushed me over. I still believe that this team is capable of being competitive, winning and possibly making a nice little run. Have we looked great the past few games...no. But I still have a hard time believing that this roster and coaching staff cannot pull together enough wins to make the tournament around an 8 seed. I have concerns like a lot on this board, but I am willing to give Archie more than 2 years to get this figured out and hopefully be our guy long term. -

Alright, getting off here...we are headed for an epic meltdown. Injuries aside, we still just aren’t very good. I’m not sure how much Jerome or Race would even move the needle. Bottom line, we have a roster full of top 100 kids, multiple 4 stars, potential Freshman of the Year and 2 all big ten players, and we still suck. -

Can we please recruit a true bruising center...seems every team in the country has one, but us. -

Guys, love the kid, love his heart...but Mcbob cannot be in the game if he’s going to refuse to shoot. His defense does not outweigh his negative impact on offense. -

In other news, a legendary coach has a Syracuse team in position to beat Duke at home. They are pegged to miss the tourney. -

I’ll continue to watch, but don’t expect much over the next 7 games. Just being honest, but see us winning maybe 2 of those with the way we are progressing. At Purdue, At Northwestern, home against Michigan, At Rutgers, At MSU, home against Iowa, Home against Ohio State. -

Guys....we don’t have or run an offense. We are so limited on that end of the court. Additionally, we have several players that are just absolute liabilities on defense. trying to fight off the apathy slowly setting in. -
Based on the legs (jokes welcome), Id say it’s Justin...

IUBB vs. Illinois - Thurs., 1/3 @ 7:00
monskisprodigy replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Random, but a buddy of mine mentioned that Darius Garland was at the game, and was even shown on the jumbotron. Seems odd he would be at an IU game, especially after the hard fought recruitment. Possibly there to watch Romeo and others?
