Listen, I'm not saying Glass and Mcrobbie haven't hindered the program...but most people complaining have serious issues with Archie's coaching, inability to build a roster, etc. Glass and Mcrobbie aren't coaching, recruiting and developing the players. That is solely on Archie.

Ole Tommy Crean about to beat Memphis on the road....SALT IN THE WOUNDS haha.
  3. Dakich also just tweeted he was waiting to see who he bets on until he hears the injuries news from TA, because it's "not good".

Like maybe...a Greg Tonagel? Potentially the best coach in the state of Indiana, quietly winning, and winning, and winning. Recruiting very good players to come to little IWU. Crazy not even Valpo has given him a shot. Seriously though, I would love him as an assistant at a minimum.

IU vs Notre Dame 12/21 Noon ESPN

My positive take away...we don’t win these close ones in seasons past. Franklin stepped up big time. Two freshman leading the way today.

We can’t escape this nightmare. Goodbye cruel world.

    Fred Glass Retiring

Ex IU player, and was on staff for several years, served as Associate and Senior Athletic Director. Now the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics (AD) at Bradley, but had stops at Northwestern and Notre Dame and Michigan State. Have met Chris several times, and my mom worked close with him while he was at Indiana. Just an outstanding person.

Wonder if Tom Jurich would be interested... Maybe bring Ole Slick Rick to Bloomington also.

I don't know alot about Scott, other than him being an Indiana grad and IUBB manager and with the school for some time. Would people like this hire? Wonder if some will want IU to go completely outside of the Indiana family, i.e., no Chris Reynolds, Dolson, etc.

Love the idea of Chis Reynolds.

Is a lot of it precautionary, or the universities being overly sensitive to these types of injuries so they don't take a chance? I remember growing up, taking elbows to the head needing in game stitches, hard collisions, broken nose where I was knocked out. Not once do I remember anyone discussing concussions. Most of the time it was, "You good, okay get your butt back in there" haha. Speaking of bigger, stronger, faster players, it really is incredible how much this has developed in the past 15-20 years. I played on an AAU team that won multiple state championships and competed for national championships year in and year out, and remember slapping the backboard on layups as a 6-8 grader was a big deal. An athletic kid here and there could dunk, but didn't come across them too often. Now...everyone and their brother can dunk at a much earlier age. I also think the game is a lot quicker due to AAU moving away from structured offenses and sets, to more motion and pickup style ball.

    Will Trayce Go Pro?

Have thought about this quite a bit...I think he could probably go, but hope he stays 2 years. If he does go, losing a guy like Garcia becomes a whole lot more painful.

I would hate to see him go, but I don't disagree with this statement. I think there are two extremes; those who never wanted him and those who will defend him until the end. Not making the tournament this year would stir up those in the middle, as a tournament birth in year 3 with a reasonably talented and deep roster is expected. As some have pointed out, if we want to recruit at a high level we have to prove we can win consistently, and making the tournament goes a long way in accomplishing that.

My wife tells me I need to get another hobby..I’ll keep coming back though. A lot of season left, and still a lot to be excited about this year and next...but I’d be lying if I said I wasn't slightly concerned. What pains me is to talk to fellow fans who respond, “I’ve accepted that we just won’t ever be elite again”. Unfortunately, that’s becoming more and more common. One loss doesn’t define a season, hopefully they learn from it, move on and respond in MSG. A lot of programs get their teeth kicked in from time to time, but good programs always pick themselves up and respond. On to the next one.

    Extend Tom Allen

Feel like $800k is pretty decent for an OC at Indiana. I may be wrong, was trying to look at assistance coaching data. For reference, Kevin Wilson is making $800k at OSU I believe.

    Extend Tom Allen

It's amazing what college coaches are getting paid these days. Even crazier to think that almost $4mil a year will only make him the 12th highest paid coach in the Big Ten. Brohm getting $6.6 still blows my mind... Congrats to Tom Allen! Now let's give our best pitch to Deboer, and make the right hire if he leaves. Any chance they give Hart a shot?

Virginia has looked horrible so far. Purdue defense and length causing some issues, and they keep jacking threes. This is my first real watch of Virginia this year, and they do not pass the eye test of a top 25 team IMO. For someone who has watched them more, are they truly this limited on offense?

I would hope the water finds its level, he’s a better shooter than that. Shot 37% in high school for his career per max preps. Now if that continues...I agree haha.

Would they have an argument for the #1 spot? Would have wins against Creighton, Iowa State, #6 UNC and #8 Gonzaga. What other team would have a better resume so far? Unranked to #1, Not sure that has ever happened, but from a pure resume perspective and eye test, they have a case IMO.

    (2020) PF/C - Dawson Garcia to Minnesota

I'd have to go find it, but I thought someone in the Kaufman thread posted that things around Sellersburg were positive for IU. Not doubting you, just thought I saw some conflicting info in another thread. EDIT: Found the post. Was more of a feeling that the poster had. He stated he felt like he was more of an Indiana kid based on living in that neck of the woods and knowing people from the area. Nothing concrete.

That's why I asked about the Garland recruitment, wasn't aware of what occurred there. Can someone elaborate on why they have a distrust for him?
