I have been on the Play Banks train....but last game his body language kind of worried me as well. He made a couple mistakes, including closing out late and getting a three splashed on him, and his body language immediately went negative. As someone who came off the bench, typically during blowouts...I understand it is hard and the negativity of the game and other teammates can rub off. But this is your chance to bust your @$$ and show why you should get minutes, regardless of score or circumstance. That said...I still want him to get more minutes. I'd rather force him into difficult situations he can learn from for next year, than watch the same old sulking head down woe is me attitude a lot of the guys are displaying.

Not trying to pile on, just making an honest observation….Kopp has extremely slow feet. I can think of four times at least last night where he was beat off the dribble badly, and could not recover, which seems to be a theme game to game. One of those times he was beat so bad the guy was shooting the layup, and he was still standing halfway between the three point line, where the guy originally started, and the basket. Additionally, he tends to over help and several times last night called for a switch that wasn’t needed / didn’t happen, and that left him scrambling back to his guy behind the three point line trying to contest. This entire team has struggled to switch, with miscommunications galore. It also puts several guys in bad positions to defend outside of their scope, including Kopp. I feel like if you are going switch everything on the defensive end, you have to have a roster for that. Which we don’t IMO.

It’s clicking for Geronimo today….letting the offensive side come to him, busting his butt on defense and being active. Keeping it simple, and it’s paying off so far.

My wife buys the recycled environmentally conscious brand. I don't enjoy it in my bathroom, but would love for our team to reflect it's characteristics on the floor. May not be pretty or flashy...but tough and rough from top to bottom, stays together start to finish and always gets the job done.

Just saw where PSU is getting 43% of their points beyond the arc....seems like that could spell trouble for us tonight given our recent defensive struggles. I have not watched much of PSU, but I assume they reflect their Coach and play tough, hardnosed basketball.

Reading this as I currently listen to the Bluey intro song playing downstairs for my middle kid home with pink eye (gross). Speaking of that....what do IUBB and and pink eye have in common...oh never mind.
  11. If you would have told me that Trayce would have 18 points and 23 rebounds, and JHS would have 33 pts… No way would I believe you that we lost…
  12. The wheels have fallen off and are rolling down kirkwood.
  13. I may be wrong…but I want to see what Banks can do in a 5-6 minute stretch. I have a hard time believing it will be less than what JG is bringing right now.
  14. The last Gunn turnover happened because Geronimo put him in a horrible spot IMO. I think Gunn provided a spark for that run. Brought an entirely different energy to the court.

What's wild is they pulled back the technical on Geronimo, and called it just a delay of game, which still gave them a free throw. I guess the ref thought maybe he tossed the ball in a lofty/high/slow manner to him, delaying the game...fine. But what happened to players getting a warning first before getting an actual delay of game? Just jumped directly to a delay of game call. The rest of the game had players on both sides touching/hitting the ball after it going through the hoop, and nothing was called. Was just very bizarre. Not to mention the blatant goal tend by JG later in the game that the refs just overlooked ha-ha.

There was a 5 minute + stretch where he looked like he was unaware it was an organized game with refs and rules. Fouls, travels, lost on defense, turnovers, the goaltend that somehow wasn't called. For every plus there were 2-3 minuses. He looked like an athletic kid trying to figure out how to play basketball. His athleticism allows him to block shots, get tips and rebound, but he's just not a "basketball" player yet IMO. He's still learning, and that is hard to do in Big Ten play. With that said...Reneau was unable to be on the floor. He's trying to go too fast, needs to just slow down and let the game come to him. I wouldn't of minded a couple minutes of Banks here and there for JG, or even some Duncomb. But I'm just an old guy on the couch ha-ha.

Let me be clear...we let them come back from a 20 point deficit...this is solely on us. But...I am very interested how the Big Ten would answer for a Technical being given to Fran for coming down to our bench and causing that scene, and then somehow taking the technical back? In the same game that Geronimo get's a delay of game for tossing the ball to a ref allowing them a free-throw, Iowa get's a called technical that was clearly warranted retracted at a pivotal game deciding point...mindboggling. Also just as curious to see how the Big Ten handles Woody's comments post game on it.

Coach Ya told Fran, “you better back your a$$ up”. The ref signaled a T on Fran, and then took it back somehow…

I doubted Smith for Purdue…mocked him a little. I regret that… Kid is tough and can flat out play. Really impressive as a freshman, running the show for Purdue at a high level. I didn’t even know who he was coming into the season and I live in Indiana…

Has anyone heard if there is a potential TJD doesn't play tonight? I would hope after 18 days off they were able to get him rested and healed.

I remember there being chatter on here several years ago about East, while he was at New Albany. I watched a couple of their games and even though he was small, he impressed me. Awesome to see him getting a shot and taking full advantage.
