NCAA MBB Coaching Carousel
monskisprodigy replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'd be interested in a list pulled together based on active coaches rankings of the top jobs...but Brad Crawford, College Football Analyst from 247 sports, list? Meh...not sure I would say this list represents the 'national perception' of tops jobs in college hoops. Looks more like his personal ranking based on what he thinks about programs current "resources, brand appeal, fan support and those in immediate position to be successful as a perennial contender". Here's the article. https://247sports.com/longformarticle/arkansas-landing-john-calipari-disrupts-college-basketballs-top-10-job-rankings-230101384/#2402675 -
Is there any chance he…and I’m worried to say it out loud…comes back to try to win it all next year?!? Really don’t want to watch him again.

I would pull Edey out and run Loyer to death with high ball screens/pick and rolls. The Goatee boys are going to struggle against the Uconn guards. But I also think Clingan is going to struggle with Edey. Castle to be MVP if Uconn wins is like +350, might toss some dollars on that.

Wouldn't it be something for UK to play with fire and get burned...I don't see them pulling Hurley away from the east coast. Saw chatter questioning whether Oats or Drew are a good fit. UK friend of mine texted Beard, Donovan, Pearl. Beard has baggage UK would likely overlook...Donovan has been a pipe dream for multiple schools the last 5+ years....Pearl would inject life into the program, but would he be willing to jump to another SEC school? Sean Miller a potential dark horse here? Cal has had a heck of a run the last 15 years, and the next coach will have to put in work to replicate that. In a world where everyone seems to have $, a bad hire or two and it can get ugly...as IU fans we know this all too well. Will be really interested to see who follows Cal to Arkansas, both players and coach wise. Wonder if he will bring Kenny P with him. Appears he can pay the players to follow with the NIL infusion, but not sure how many want to be in Fayetteville. -

My wife has a gluten allergy, it can be a struggle if you are somewhere where selection is lacking. If he doesn’t want beer, high Noon tequila seltzers are amazing…made with real tequila, gluten free, tons of flavors, but maybe not college kid budget friendly. They also have ones with vodka which are gluten free. Also, Not all malt liquor based seltzers are gluten free, but white claws are. There are also a ton of gluten free beer options now that are great. Holidaily Brewing out of Golden Colorado only does gluten free, and they have everything from blondes to IPAs. Or…it’s college, and he could just hit the hard stuff straight and get the job done quickly and effectively haha….only kidding, kind of…passed many half gallons around in my college days. Plastic bottle, death the next morning. Also, still to this day I struggle with the smell of pineapple due the amount of pineapple back consumed with shots at kilroys. -
IUFB Offseason Updates

No nonsense, but come on coach give us a little more haha. -
If the refs can see those big ole feet shuffling, can’t help them haha.
-
Refs just don’t know what to do with Edey. Committed zero fouls yet drawn 9…sure.

Born and raised in Bloomington until moving away as an adult…good group of kids, painter is great…I still hope they lose by a billion next round. They have no problem stomping on us while down, and I have no problem hoping they never win a title as long as I breathe haha. Couldn’t root for them even if I tried, and I think that’s what makes the rivalry great.
-
That last foul on Ike was very weak haha.
-
I’m just ready for the Edey era to be over. Kid is good, dominant. No denying that. But every drop step he lowers his shoulder, hip checks on every screen, and fouls on most rebounds. If you block him out and he comes over the top, you get whistled. Gets away with murder IMO. Also Throws his hands up and yells at the refs if anyone breathes on him and he doesn’t get a call. Please let it end haha.

I admittedly know nothing about Tucker. What is his story? Why is a 5 star McDonald’s all American still available? -

I agree, wild hire given prior history of his dad and where they started their search. But there is a contingent of UofL fans that would absolutely love this. -

Have a lot of friends from Louisville, all well connected families to the program. About a week ago I received a text from one along the lines of, “I’d be happy with Richard Pitino, and that’s it”. -

Wishful thinking....butttttt, his Instagram post doesn't specifically say he is entering the draft...just thanks everyone at IU, including THE GREATEST FANS IN THE WORLD and has a nice highlight reel...maybe he will still come back?!?!?! Maybe?!?! All kidding aside, Happy for him, glad we got him for a year. Really hope he lands with a team that will have patience and let him continue to develop. His skill set is special, and it was a joy to watch him play. -

Not what I’m asking. If a coach is told there is $6 million in NIL funds available, I assume he would have a say in how that is allocated. Not fully up on NIL, guess I just assumed it was at the coaches discretion how it was dished out. -

I don’t know the answer, so I’m asking… Would the head coach not have a say in how NIL funds are allocated? -
Is Billy Gillispie still the coach at Tarleton?

Wild...if you are sending someone death threats about accepting a job to coach your favorite sports team...you need some serious help and a life. -
And then one clutch one to send it to OT!!!
-
The path is there for them…sadly. Play like this and I’m not sure anyone can beat them.
-
Purdue is…rolling. Sheesh.

I can’t help it…I’m just not a fan.
