Mack in his first three years at UL: Recruiting classes ranked nationally #12 (Class of 2019), #26 (‘20), #5 (‘21), and Louisville has Tae Davis, a Warren Central forward, committed for 2022. Mack’s only missed the tournament once since 2009 and found pretty immediate success for Louisville after moving from Xavier. From what I’ve read, Oats seems like a really smart and creative basketball mind. I think that photo of his practices at Alabama with the tape on the court has been shared here, but that further illustrates the point that he keeps up with the times and his teams have success to show for it. I don’t think he’s a lock to be some HOF coach, but I think he’s worth the buyout and would bring pretty immediate success to IU like he’s done at Alabama. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

One thing that legitimately makes me more interested in Cooley is the fact that whether or not he actually turned Michigan down, it sounds like they were very interested in him to be their HC. They made a phenomenal hire with Juwan and I honestly trust their hiring team more than IU’s so yeah I say we go with their alternative option. I think Billy D is pretty set with the Bulls for the next few seasons. Young roster that he’s done well with this year in his first season in charge. I legitimately don’t think there is a home run hire out there not named Stevens or Beard that would even remotely consider the IU job. Home run as in more than 50% of the fan base would get behind.
