Beard is the home run hire in every regard I feel. I’m also part of the group that frankly doesn’t care much if a coach is bending the rules a bit (Pearl, Calipari, etc) since all the top programs are. Going to be nearly impossible to bring in a coach who’s willing to play by the rules, come to IU, and find success. That guy is not out there. I also frankly don’t care much if a Coach has Indiana ties or recruits the state well. Just win f****** games. Players could be from California, NY, Indiana I do not care. Just win. Fryfogle has a chance to make a real name for himself this season. Coming off a Big Ten Receiver of the Year award, he’s comparable to guys like Rashod Bateman and Rondale in terms of preseason hype around him in the B1G. If the Hoosiers can ensure a capable arm getting him the ball, and Whop and Hendershot return too.... Wow.

Refs were obviously brutal but that doesn’t change the fact that the Hoosiers had numerous chances to win this game and failed to do so.
