(5) Indiana v. (1) UNC - Pregame Thread
hoosha61 replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I live 30 min from UNC campus, everybody knows I bleed Crimson. I can't wait to sport Hoosier gear all week. Johnson and Paige are really good and experienced. It seems like they have an infinite supply of front court players. We will need to shoot at a high percentage. Both teams like to push the tempo, it will be a fun game to watch. Go Hoosiers! -

Forgettable first half. Memorable second half. I wouldn't trade Yogi for any PG in the nation, not Ulis, not Dunn, nobody. The energy our frosh bring off the bench is palpable. Thought we did a much better job of looking for TB in the post but some of our entry passes were soft. TW did what TW does, a few + a few -. Make no mistake about it, if we want to reach our ultimate goal we need his best. I was glad to see him back in the game. Our inbound plays continue to be problematic, this makes me crazy. Let's carry this momentum to Carver Hawkeye and win us a B1G championship! Go Hoosiers

IU vs Nebraska Post Game Thread

Started shaky but retained momentum before the half. Troy set the tone to start the half and we never looked back. Juwan had his best game as a Hoosier, our future looks bright with this frosh class. On to Sat. Purdues front line is formidable. We will need to play our best to get the W. Go Hoosiers! -
Liked Max starting, he responded nicely. OG did what OG does. Otherwise not much to be happy about. Obviously Yogi is struggling, we are going nowhere without him. Troy is not very good, Crean needs to accept this and adjust accordingly. Next two at AH will hopefully right the ship. Go Hoosiers!

Indiana vs Iowa Post Game Thread

Great team win! Our bench play was the difference in the end. I love our freshman's defensive skill/intensity. I was also very proud of the way Thomas handled those two awful calls against him. Troy as usual had me swearing, but he hit a gigantic bucket when we most needed it. Can someone please tell me why Z is shooting lights out and gets pulled? Why take him out when he's red hot? Juwan and Harrison with big contributions in limited minutes, hats off to them for being prepared. Max continues to be a gift that keeps on giving. Finally, seeing Yogi leading his team in that timeout was awesome. I would love for him to be more of a vocal leader. On to MSU. Go Hoosiers! -
I can't understand this. I get the frustration but NOTHING could diminish my love for iubb.
-
Flat performance and disappointing loss. Colin reminds me more and more of Austin E. Rojo has fallen off greatly. It's time to accept that TW is not very good. The VO like progression that we were all hoping for will never happen. I understand TB frustration but acting like a spoiled brat is not a good look. I like CTC but I have finally accepted that he is not capable of returning IU to elite status. I feel like the current regimes goal is to make the tourney, this is Indiana! I'm surprised so many people think we will beat Iowa, I think it's very possible we get embarrassed. My support of iubb will never wain, but I'm really bummed right now. Go Hoosiers!

Indiana @ Michigan Post-Game Thread

Prior to the game I thought ithe results would define us as a contender or pretender. Every road game is a challenge, but I felt we were better at every position. Our flat start had me worried, but Crean's TO and Yogi's response were executed perfectly. While still concerned about Troy and Robert, the frosh continue to impress. I'm not quite ready to label OG the next VO, but my goodness he's playing well. Was glad to see Nick shoot better, if we are to reach our goals I think he is a real X factor. This W should really be a confidence builder, on to PSU! Go Hoosiers! -
Indiana v. Minnesota - Post Game Thread

Troy's regression has been unfortunate. Remember all those VO comparisons? OG is closer to that. His "finesse" game around the rim is soft. Rojo ended last year poorly and has not improved. I think he needs some perspective (bench). Our frosh have been a godsend, along with Max they bring energy and athleticism. Hoping the poor shooting was an anomaly. Let's regroup, get better and beat UM. Go Hoosiers. -

Hayes killed us at the stripe and Happ had his way with TB. Yogi played his heart out. Troy was awful again, Rojo was a non factor again, bench mob didn't bring it. I was pleased with our effort but disappointed in our execution. Bring on Minny. #GoHoosiers -

Every game is a chance to improve! Let's get this W. -
Lets be realistic. We would have had to play our very best to win at Duke. Obviously they are way better than us. That being said, our complete lack of defense has made us a laughing stock amongst anyone with a hoops IQ. It's time for a change.

On a rare positive note.....Max is a great addition. I thought Juwan and OG logged some positive minutes, they can play. Nick is our x-factor, brings experience and instant offense off the bench. It's to early to give up on this team. Let's regroup, refocus, get home and get back to work. Go Hoosiers! -
I'm so over Troy's "finesse" game. He thinks he's Dr. j

Hope Zimmerman plays, to see how TB stacks up.

Above all else, my biggest problem was their effort. WF played harder the entire game. Defense is all about EFFORT. Tbh I thought this may have been Troy's best game as a Hoosier. If coach didn't blister the locker room paint after this I would be very disappointed. Why don't we press? It's early I'm not panicking. Colin and Rob need to start asap. I would just once like to see Yogi challenge a teammate when they need it. Sorry I'm rambling, but it's late. #GoHoosiers

If TW can find some consistency with his ball handeling/decision making in transition, he could be so dangerous.
