Vic, Cody, Jordan, Wat along with a more motivated (or something) Will covered a lot of ills but even then with the best cast of players the coaching was suspect as it showed in last quarter of year when we hould have been playing at the highest level.

For those wondering why Indiana would turn down the CBI...

Fred Glass does not want any more pressure on him, Crean and the program should we lose. -
For those wondering why Indiana would turn down the CBI...

I have been a fan for a long, long time, this was the worst Selection Sunday that I have ever seen. For us to have finished like we did as far down in the bottom of the Big10 with the talent we have is damn near a disgrace. Excuses have an effective range of zero meters. -
Might as well throw Steve Alford into the mix:)

I really don't think anyone on this year's team should think about playing next year in the same league as La bron, Durant and Koby!

The unfortunate thing to me is that we are spending any time at all on these issues. I realize it's reality but certainly these type of conversations drift their way back to the team at least indirectly. This is a distraction to the mission at hand and as someone mentioned in above comments, the coaching staff needs to do everything in their collective power to foster that "family" feeling and work to improve the chemistry on the team moving forward.

Indiana vs. Nebraska Post Game Thread
colonel06 replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We had some hustle moments but Nebraska played as if they were on their own floor, hustled more, and shot better. Hoosiers had FOUR empty offensive trips when it was tied at 52-52 and we could just not capture any momentum and frankly are tentative at the end of the games with this one no exception. -
Nice to see him really come alive albeit at this late juncture and hope he can keep doing the same and more. Coach Crean said all fans must bring their "A" game Wed. night and that we just can not lose that game.

Prediction League Game 30 (Week 17) IU vs Nebraska (03/05/14)
colonel06 replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Coach Crean was highly emotional after the game on the radio. He said that we can not absolutely lose to Nebraska on Senior night and for the fans to bring all they have for the game! -
Coach Crean was "very" emotional when interviewed by Fisch after the game. I thought my radio cut out twice with the silence as he was gaining composure back. In his words, "We just cant lose this game to Nebraska Wednesday night." He went on to urge all fans to bring everything they've got to that senior night game.

What was the point of activating Hanner?
colonel06 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The ethos of the Hoosier Team is at stake here as well as how future infractions will be handled. In this instant case, i think most will agree it is 180 degrees different from how coach Crean initially took charge and cleaned up the program. I don't know of any situations back then that were the OWI/DUI level. In any case, the new precedent has been set. -
Coach Crean and staff have shown very lttlle as far as brilliant coaching for that matter nothing more than pedestrian-like coaching. Offensively, I just don't think Crean has it ( what was my first clue, right). Supposedly, the other guys on his staff are decent coaches but I sure have not seen anything from the the entire staff. I think last year our talent covered up those coaching flaws and this year those flaws can be seen a mile away.

Wouldn't it be great if he came back and played like a man possessed!

Official game day thread IU vs. Iowa

Game over! For tonight anyway.! Structural failure in the Hall. -
Pappy1865 nailed it. Ever since his "T" last year he has been a subdued player. Too bad, the Hoosiers could have used his spunk and zest for winning he demonstrated last year. Definitely a different person/player:(

Indiana's Road to March Madness 2014
colonel06 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Unfortunately and for whatever reason, the coaching staff does not have the Hoosier Team right now. It begs the question why and should motivate Mr. Glass to investigate. -
mdn82 well said. May I suggest you forward to Fred Glass' office-seriously.
-
That is "too" far:)
-
Iowa is "a bridge to far" i'm afraid my friends. I've never seen the deer in the headlight stare from an IU team as I do this one.
-
It was obvious from listening to Fred Glass this afternoon on 1070 the FAN that he could not see the contrast in the Chambers coaching style to Crean's. If Penn State was a "must" win then Purdue has is a "no choice but win!"
-
Last night at home against Penn State, I'm afraid was the NIT intro for the beloved. Reality is hard to to come to terms with, of course I hope I'm wrong on this.
-
I'm worrying about Purdue-there right now.

VIDEO: Tom Crean addresses Media after #IUBB Meltdown
colonel06 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He says the team has been growing these last several games but tonight regretfully, you can see that is not the case at least in a positive direction. I don't know what the man can say now. Will he stop trying to sell the "growth" thing so much? -
Penn State @ IU Post Game Thread

Unfortunately, it was painfully obvious watching Pat Chambers "lead" the charge and out coaching CTC down the stretch. I felt embarassed for him, I really did.
