Terry Hutchins hasn't written for the Star for about a year. I believe that Hutchins writes for scout now. Chappel and Kravitz are gone.   Good hire in my opinion.

I think Nick Zeisloft will provide some much needed maturity and hopefully hit a few easy threes after our slashers penetrate the middle and then kick it out.

I think a lot of you guys are politicians with your use of buzz words like ""Gloom and Doomers" and "sunshine pumpers".   I could honestly see IU struggling a little bit out of the gate with some tough matchups against Louisville, SMU, and the like. But those experiences will be invaluable come B1G time and the boys elevate their game.   I am hopeful that we will finish in the upper echelon in the B1G and make it to the tournament somewhere between a 4 and a 8 seed.    Hopefully over all this will be a decent season and a good foundation for next year. If not, things could get really ugly.

I see what you are saying now. I thought you said that they would belly up to all three players.   But then I would question if you think teams are really going to sag of Yogi, who shot 40% from the three point line last year. 

That would be true if we also didn't have people who like to slash it in the inside (Troy and Stan). I wouldn't categorize Troy as a 3 point shooter either. Also, Blackmon and Yogi have an ability to get into the lane, thus leaving a shooter open. While I see your point, you are conveniently painting many players far more 1-dimensional than they really are.

Goodman also said that he felt bad for Thon because of this whole mess. Just another example of some greedy a********** messing it up for a kid that could have been something really special just so he can get his fingers in the pie. Nothing has happened yet, but imo this whole situation doesn't bode well for him. (three high schools, three AAU team)

Also, for what it is worth, didn't UK post a GPA of like 3.4 or something ridiculous like that last year? I know that number is bogus because of easy classes, but still

I have always wondered why people assume that a top tiered recruit is automatically a poor student. 

I just saw a tweet that ND got new away and home football jerseys and it got me thinking... Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, UCLA, MSU... all of these College Basketball programs that are rich in tradition, some going back almost a hundred years, have been willing to adapt and change some aspects surrounding their team with the times. For whatever reason, people in Indiana throw their arms in the air anytime anyone suggests changing something (I mean people were whining and moaning about the B1G tournament jerseys that EVERYONE HAD TO WEAR). My question is this, why?   Why not allow the basketball team to get new flashy jerseys to possibly get recruits or to increase revenue to improve facilities? I am not suggesting getting rid of the classic warm ups or changing anything too drastic, in fact I am not suggesting anything at all. I am just wondering why Indiana fans are so hesitant to change anything about IU basketball?

I hope Emmit Holt develops and becomes a valuable asset to the team! Could be a good pick up!

I like the idea of alternate jerseys. Seems like the most agreeable position to keep both sides of the spectrum happy. To broaden debate however, I mean change from tradition in the most general sense. People were pissed that they put the B1G logo on the courts (noted now know one notices) and people hated that the changed the name of assembly hall to simon skjody assembly hall...even though the family donated millions and millions of dollars (keep in mind that the simon family has IU grads).   And I don't buy the whole "conservative" argument. there are plenty of places in Kentucky and North Carolina that haven't changed since Ike.

When Knight was fired he hadn't won a National Championship in 13 years. I wonder how the fan base would have acted if it had been 15+ years. I am doubtful that many would be so loyal then.  My uncle and I have this conversation all the time about what would have happened to Knight if he had won a championship sometime in the 90s. I am of the impression that he would have not been fired, but because there had been such a time lapse the upper management was shorter with his range.   This is all speculation and opinion however.

I don't know how you shoot. But a shot and a throw are completely different things.

Those are the rules though.

Because its a shot attempt. That is like saying getting your shot blocked is a turnover. It isn't. Just another embarrassing way to miss a shot. Another comparison would to be if the shot hit the rim really hard and went out of bounds. The result is the same, but you had the shot attempt.

I watched Hook last night. As a man in his mid-20s, reminded me of my childhood. Also, Aladdin. Good Will Hunting is top 10 movie for me.
