Is Miller becoming the Cal of the West?

That Cal is actually a good coach just makes me hate him more!

It would be great to have him at a game in AH but with a TBI the lights, noise, etc. might be too much for him. That was a family member's personal experience.

My thoughts: I hate Cal and UK.

I read that Leaf is announcing today rather than Friday. Can anyone confirm this?   IU is not in the running, but because his parents are from Indiana, I'm interested in T.J.'s decision.

The number of B1G recruits that signed a LOI on Nov. 12th, the first day of the early signing period:   OSU - 4 signed Minnesota - 4 signed Iowa - 4 signed Wisconsin - 3 signed Nebraska - 3 signed Penn State - 3 signed Illinois - 3 signed MSU - 2 signed Purdue - 2 signed   There may have been others that I missed. If so, feel free to add to the list.

Most threads delve into off-topic topics at some point. That has always been the case. I have noticed more personal attacks lately though. People should be allowed to defend themselves within a thread when such attacks occur. If not, it allows the attackers free reign to say whatever they please.

Obviously those of us who are concerned are just plain stupid. Everything is difficult for us to understand because our basketball I.Q. is not as high as some people's on this board. But, thank God, we continue to try to learn from our betters.

I agree there would be little turnover with a new coach. We're likely to lose a few players after this season even if Crean stays. That's the nature of CBB these days.

Nicky Z had an off night against Indy. Trying to do too much. He'll be fine going forward.

I consider this thread "for fun", btw. It's a way to discuss coaching possibilities for the future; nothing more. None of us are going to be making the big decision anyway.

Someone mentioned going with a young up-and-coming coach. I'm not saying we should go that route but it is a possibility. Knight didn't have any national championships when IU hired him. Sometimes you go bold and take a chance.

I love Hoiberg ( I remember when he was a Pacer ) but I can't see "The Mayor" leaving Ames.   If we want to take a chance on a young up-and-coming coach, I'll put Billy Donlon from Wright State in for consideration. He's good. Recruits a lot of players from Indiana, so he has connections in the state. Dad was a coach; an assistant under Pitino, I believe. There are other good young up-and-comers to consider if IU wants to go that route.   My first choice would still be Stevens.

Is there an official "IU Fan Book" out there somewhere that says, as a fan, I have to root for and support everyone who is on the current roster and staff? Please show me that book because as an IU fan for over 50 years, I've never seen it. There is at least one player on the roster who needs to be gone from IU yesterday. Why should I root for him? Just because when he isn't suspended, he wears an IU uniform? Get real. I don't park my brain somewhere else when I follow IU sports. When I see things happening at my alma mater that I can't support, I don't support them. I want them cleaned up. And a trip to the tournament isn't going to automatically make things a-okay. As an IU fan, I have higher standards than that. This isn't UK or Syracuse or some other Mickey Mouse basketball program where winning is everything.

I care about what Yogi does on and off the court at IU this year, not his NBA draft value.

And some people want Crean to remain coach at IU no matter what happens. We get that, too.
