Great thread, guys. I can hear RMK talking. I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying.

Dear Fred Glass, Tom Crean is a great guy who tries really, really hard. Please fire him so he can be a great guy who tries really, really hard somewhere else. Sincerely yours, LazOffTheBench

We had a basketball game yesterday? I didn't even know. -
It's nice to know that Glass pretends to care. Happy Holidays, Fred! I mean that very seriously.

Bo Ryan retires effective immediately- Investigated
LazOffTheBench replied to Fulkme15's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Class of '66, I agree completely. When I heard Bo had retired, I thought of Gene Keady's retirement. Their teams, style of coaching and play were similar. I have a lot of respect for both of them. -
Bo Ryan retires effective immediately- Investigated
LazOffTheBench replied to Fulkme15's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
From what I've read, Bo was planning to retire after last season, but Bo's choice as replacement, Assistant Coach Gard, was then dealing with a serious illness in his family. Bo didn't want to leave until Gard was able to take over the job during a less stressful time in his life. So that is the reason Bo gave for retiring now, although leaving at this time does mean Gard gets to be Interim Head Coach with little or no chance of being replaced until the season ends. Gard has been with Bo for many seasons. They are obviously very close. Whether Alvarez keeps Gard on as Head Coach remains to be seen. The Bo vs. IU rivalry has been a good one. I hope he enjoys his retirement. -
Prediction League Game 12 (Week 6) IU vs Notre Dame (12/19/15)

I don't care which players or recruits we lose, I want Crean gone. Like yesterday. I can't stand to watch this cr*p that IUBB has become. Matt Freaking Painter is a better coach than Crean. That hurts.

I'm very familiar with SnapChat but what is this thing called a "football bowl"? -
Nice not to see Boeheim. About time.

Congrats to Steve. Well done!

Getting nervous. I want us to win this so badly. When I wrote recently that I had stopped caring about IUBB, I LIED!!! I freaking LIED!!! I won't stopped caring until I'm dead. Go Hoosiers!

There's still no excuse for the white capris.

Hova, I'm sure IU will have a top engineering program eventually but it will take us a while to catch up with Purdue. It hurts me to say that but it's true. Purdue's engineering school has been graduating renowned astronauts and other world-class engineers for a long time.

I have family members who went to Purdue for degrees that IU-Bloomington doesn't offer like engineering, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine. Purdue is an excellent university in those areas, especially engineering. In fact, their engineering program is one of the best in the country. Depending on a person's professional goals, Purdue is a very good choice. You can support a family member's academic career at Purdue without supporting Purdue's athletic program. I've done it for years. Edit: Hova reminded me below that IU will soon be having an engineering program.

New Coach Salary And Criteria...$5 million?
LazOffTheBench replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I've watched my share of Arizona games over the last several years ( one of my kids lives out west ). I've said wtf was that to lots of Sean Miller's in-game coaching. To me, he's a better recruiter than Crean and only a slightly better coach. His record is stronger primarily because he's in the Pac12. Archie is the better coach of the two Miller brothers, imo, but I'm not totally sold on him either right now. -

I still think the key to getting Brad Stevens to IU is Tracy Stevens. You know, "Happy wife, happy life." When Brad got the Celtics' job, Tracy expressed her love for Indianapolis and Butler. I'm sure there was some sadness in leaving. But I also saw the excitement in her eyes and heard it in her voice when she talked about Boston. It was a move up the ladder in many respects for the Stevens' family, not just the money. I don't know if Indiana family and friends are all that important to Tracy. She's from Cleveland, not Indianapolis. So what will make her say to Brad, "Let's go to IU!"? -

Sean Miller is a very good recruiter. Gets a lot of talent then doesn't produce in the tournament because he isn't a great coach. Sounds too much like what we already have ( maybe a slight upgrade ). I say no. -
IMO, Chris Mack should be on the list of possible replacements. Yeah, I've been thinking a lot about him lately. Xavier's win against Archie Miller's Dayton team yesterday was impressive. Still wish we had gotten Bluiett. Dang.
-
IMO, to get Stevens, IU needs to offer something of importance to his wife that she can't get in Boston. Something apart from money. I see her as the key to luring Brad back to Indiana.

IU vs St. John's Post Game Thread
LazOffTheBench replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Rumor is that Tom Crean was overheard whispering to Matur Maker today: "If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do is to save every day 'til eternity passes away just to spend them with you." Can anyone confirm this?
