We don’t need anything close to TJD to replace him. I keep seeing people calling Sparks a backup. We don’t need a big that the offense runs through. We need guards, wings, and serviceable bigs. Sparks is more than serviceable. I feel like some are going to be disappointed when we don’t replace one of the best bigs in our entire history.

No stirring of **** here. I just didn’t see it that way. He was hyped coming in but fans bashed him quite a lot, which I didn’t think he deserved. Was a special PG. Havent had anything close to him since.

Agree. Go back and watch Xavier Johnson at Pitt replays then watch him playing the 2nd half of his 1st season with IU. Completely different player. I think Love thrives here with Woody.

My favorite players tend to be PG’s. I never got to watch Zeke play for IU, so Yogi is my favorite IU player of all time. Guyton is a close 2nd. Yogi Ferrell was criminally under appreciated by our fan base.

I agree with you on this. People had unrealistic expectations for Geronimo. He was purely a gifted athlete. He’s not a very skilled basketball player. We needs guys his size who can score the damn basketball. Bates is not good enough to take us to the next level. I’m not sure what’s causing his inconsistency but I don’t see him ever becoming the guy we all expected him to be.

Buddy of mine made a great point. Said that the mentality of guys who’ve never won anything of significance, doesn’t just flip. They are who they are. Was unfair and unrealistic to expect guys who were accustomed to mediocrity, or worse, to become champions. JHS and Reneau were the only two who were used to winning and they were frosh. It’s really cliche but we need a roster of Woody’s guys. I’m a huge fan of Gabe Cupps. I believe he will take us to the next level as he gains experience and seniority. Time to croot!

You nailed it. If your best player and offensive option is a big man, you’re in trouble in March. Guards win the tournament.

I’m not gonna let this ruin the overall perspective. We lost an all conference caliber point guard and won a tournament game. We’ve moved positively in the right direction each year. Let’s hope this is the case in the next couple years. all in all a pretty good season.

This team is one of the worst rebounding teams I’ve ever had to watch. Just ******* pathetic. Makes me want to tear the door off the wall.

That lucky 3 is demoralizing… to me anyways. Lol.

I agree. I’m not trying to trash the kid but he’s just not a good enough basketball player. He’s a freak athlete. Occasionally things will go his way due to that fact but he’s not a very skilled basketball player at all. Really would have benefitted going to a mid major or low major and gotten plenty of burn, so he could develop his game. We need so much more skill than we have on the bench.
