Don't worry guys! My avatar will be coming to the rescue after next year. Some say it's impossible but I have a very strong gut feeling that he's our coach within the next 2 years.

. We don't. Just a small minority compared to the massive amount of people who have jumped off of the Tom Crean train.

    IU vs Purdouche Game Thread

Wait everybody! We've still had the second most wins against top 25 teams since we had Zeller! Isn't that how we measure success at IU now?

    IU vs Purdouche Game Thread

. Very very possible. Honestly, I don't think we can beat Purdue. They are literally our worst possible matchup.

. This seems to be a trend with a certain coach patrolling the sidelines.

    My Boy Yogi

The talent gap between the two guys is pretty large? I disagree. They are basically the same exact player. I haven't looked at either guys statistics this season, but they have always been almost mirror images of each other statistically from college into the pros.   To answer your question:  Yogi is more like Felton when it comes to perimeter shooting and very similar to Lawson in that he's very strong but not quite able to post other guards. His speed and quickness is on Ty Lawson's level and Yogi is naturally a more gifted facilitator than both Felton and Lawson. Defensively he's just like both Felton and Lawson. EXTREMELY underrated defensively.

    My Boy Yogi

I always felt like he was a 2-3 year guy. Honestly its all going to depend on his body. I think once his body is NBA ready, he'll be ready. He really struggles to finish in traffic and he struggles defensively. I think he's a 2 year guy.

He's going to be the next Raymond Felton or Ty Lawson at the NBA level. The knocks on his size are so tiring.

    FIRE CREAN

I agree. Crean doesn't deserve this kind of hate.

    OT: Trey Lyles

Not if he has Rheumatic Fever.

    OT: Trey Lyles

I hope this is not the case.
  13. . There are quite a few people booing him at the games. I never said everyone was booing. Just audible enough to notice.
  14. . For the most part. Definitely. I can name a few times off the top of my head where this wasn't the case though.

    Recruiting Momentum

    Hyron Edwards is a stud.
  16. For sure. I haven't spoken to any IU fans in NYC but there is definitely a rapidly growing mob here in Indiana. All you have to do is go to a game at AH and listen to the amount of fans who boo him during the game.
  17. I have hope that we will once again be at the top. I refuse to believe otherwise. Success at this level has little to do with the name on the front of the jersey. Its about having an elite coach at an elite program. Having the right guy changes everything.
  18. I agree. Nearly every single person I talk IU basketball is frustrated and wants to move on. Literally the only person I've had to debate in regards to keeping Crean is my fiancee's uncle, who happens to be a Purdue fan. I think it speaks volumes that our rivals fans actually want Crean to stay at Indiana as long as possible. They're having a blast with him patrolling the IU sidelines.

Interesting read about Coach Knight, Thoughts?

Phew! No idea! I suppose I would have tried to convince him to become the athletic director. Outside of this, I cant imagine how any other form of removal from the sidelines doesn't end with the current situation we have now.
  20. I'd pay more for a seat at the press conference than I did for the game. Love Pop! Another coaching legend from the state of Indiana.
  21. I have a dump truck full of likes..... you can have them all.
  22.      I disagree. Mike Davis won a B1G title, made a final four, and coached in a national championship, has a better overall win %, has a better conference win %, and had more NCAA tournament appearances. How can we possible say Crean has performed better than Davis, when there is literally no evidence, outside of opinion, to suggest this is the case? Crean dealt with our program at its lowest point but lets not forget that Mike Davis was thrust into the Indiana head coaching position after our biggest icon was fired. Our program was in serious turmoil during that time period as well...... This is me trying to respectfully disagree.

    Recruiting Momentum

. I actually agree with you. Not sure why people are questioning the fight in these boys. That's not the issue.
  24. . These "unrealistic" hiring happen more than most think. I'm convinced that the biggest obstacle in bringing Stevens to Bloomington is Crean's contract. I don't think the Boston Celtics themselves are the biggest obstacle. I'd agree with you that the odds are certainly not very likely, BUT that didn't stop Alabama, Michigan, O$U in football and UK, KU, UNC in cbb. They went into talks with these coaches with a "not taking no for an answer" approach. The Brad Stevens to Indiana rumor is looking almost identical to the rumors of Harbaugh to UM and Saban to Bama, at the early stages anyways. I definitely think Crean is our coach for this season and the next but never underestimate the power of a an angry mob. The More pro Crean crowd argues that dismissing him without following with the homerun hire, does more harm than anything. I agree, that if that's how it turns out, it's a bad deal. It's like investing. High risk has the potential for major loss or major gain. My risk tolerance is very very high. I completely understand and respect those who have little tolerance for risk, but I think it's time for Indiana U. to push all of the chips in the middle of the table. It's that time IMO. I've been harsh on Crean the last 2 years and I shouldn't have been. My frustration should have been directed more towards the administration for not having the same thirst and sense of urgency that the fanbase has. Crean will always have his place here in Indiana. I just think, at this point, that many fans can see that his ceiling is below their expectations and are frustrated carrying on.
