Not say crean is bad coach just questioning some of his choice
HoosierTrav replied to Hoosiers High Life's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
. The money isn't as big an issue as people think it is. If the pressure to remove Crean is strong enough, then the money will be there. I think he's here for one more season regardless. We would need to lose 4 straight games from now until the season is over for Crean to be gone. -
My bad. Just seen this post.

I agree with you that Chris Collins in no way deserves the IU job at this point. Not that I don't see him being a big time winner down the road, but this next hire has to be knocked out of the park. All avatars aside, I think that Stevens is truly IU's Renaissance Man. After him, I think the list of guys who could meet our expectations are few and far between. I don't envy Fred Glass.

. He's definitely a good coach. He's got all time great coaching ability but he's also a disingenuous slimeball and shameless self promoter.

I'm at a crossroads. I don't want to stop supporting the team bc of the players. I really love the players. They deserve our support. They have a ton of pressure at such a young age, playing for Indiana. I feel like Yogi Ferrell is a championship caliber PG who was built for March. He may miss the tournament for 2 of the 3 years he's been here. On the other hand, it's impossible to get excited about IU basketball going forward. I feel like I'm being forced to either accept mediocrity or be shown the door. I grew up playing and having an immense passion for basketball. I played on very successful teams and have been around some excellent coaches. I feel like when I watch an IU game I'm being taught my ABC's once again, only in Mandarin Chinese this go round. It's like I'm being told that everything I have learned about basketball was wrong. It's frustrating beyond measure. Does anyone else feel like Tom Crean is continually trying to reinvent the wheel? The fundamental principles of the game on the court and on the sidelines, doesn't need gross change. Tom Crean is not innovative!!!!! That win against Maryland at home was not innovative genius. It was an anomaly. We shot 80% from 3 and over 60% from the field. If you go back and watch the game, you will maybe see 3-4 shots that weren't contested. Now I don't want to come off as a pretentious prick that thinks that I could be a better coach than Tom Crean. I couldn't. What I am saying is that I know basketball well enough to see that this doesn't work. It's dysfunctional at best.

Sampson spoke about Crean recently? Or when he was here at IU?

Every single time I leave San Diego, I feel like I'm leaving home. I love that place. Good amount of Hoosier transplants there as well. I remember being on Mission beach and having numerous people break out into "HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS" after seeing me in my IU jersey.

Jim Stoppani's workouts are the best and his supplements are unmatched in quality. He will break down the science behind every supplement he releases. No proprietary blends and proper dosing of ingredients. Do yourselves a favor and look him up.

. Sorry for my friend SSQ! What he meant was welcome to the light! I'm glad we finally agree on something. I think a cheers is in order.

. Indiana needs to sign with Nike or Jordan if any changes are going to be made with the uniforms. I'm all for change. We don't need to toss the tradition. We can add some alternate uni's to the mix.

I agree. These next two games are EXTREMELY pivotal for Tom Crean. He literally needs a sports miracle to save his job. It has nothing to do with whether Fred Glass supports him. Once he loses the fanbase and his most staunch supporters, he's a gonner. A change needs to made swiftly this offseason if we plan on making a run at the 2017 class. If we wait to make the change during their senior seasons, we stand zero chance.

. Glass is such a great AD. The extension is about the only true mistake he's made. He's such a great fundraiser that I think he still has a small window to save his own job. You can bet your ass that he'll change his tune on Crean here soon. Did anyone take anything from his comment in the Star (and I'm paraphrasing) about "having the money put aside in case there needs to be a coaching change, especially in any of the major sports"? Am I reading into this too much or is it Glass' way of letting people know he prepared for this situation?

Prediction League Game 28 (Week 15) IU vs Rutgers (02/22/15)
HoosierTrav replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Indiana 68 Rutgers 67 -
. Bc he's a much better player than NZ. He is capable from 3 and gives us much more on both sides of the ball. NZ is a huge liability when he's not unconscious from beyond the 3pt line.
-
heard that! I had to take a step back too. No sense in being rabidly passionate about winning when the very admins of the institution you're supporting could care less. As long as candy striped pants keep selling out and assembly hall keeps selling out seats, they have no interest in restoring tradition. We won't get what we want until we make their pockets thinner. [quote name="Napleshoosier" post="139543" timestamp="1424458320"]Ha!! Who got the deal and who got the shaft? Crean got the deal... The fans got the shaft.

. McIntosh would DEFINITELY play over NZ.

3 years too late but better late than never. Floyd's defense is too good and PacMan's Cherry was popped against Marquez. A man's chin is NEVER the same after that happens. Big mouth Floyd wins unanimous decision. No rematch.
