    Potential fallout from coaching change

. He won't ever be a world beater. Really unimpressive at IPFW. I'd rather give Archie the job than Dane Fife.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

. Hey man, I'm with ya. I have absolutely zero faith in CTC. I do have faith in the players though. I think they've proven on numerous occasions that they are able to overcome the hole the coach has put them in. Bottom Line: if we shoot like we can, we have a chance. Booing our players at home is accomplishing the same thing that our coach's bad strategy does. It creates another obstacle. No?

BB, I want to conduct an experiment...

Yes. No for the following season.
  9. . Thanks for creating an air of transparency Doc. I realize that you don't owe any of us that courtesy, so I'm very appreciative of the fact that you clarify these things anyways. Yogi is our most beloved Hoosier. The idea/nightmare of him playing his last game in Assembly Hall is a tough pill, regardless of whether it's in year 3 or after his senior year. You have more access than most, so please let the guys know that no matter the atmosphere in Assembly Hall, there are literally THOUSANDS of fans who are tuning in and cheering for them to kick MSU's jabroni asses!
  10. . I agree. My gut instantly told me to not look to far into it.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

. You know my stance on the coaching situation and you and I usually disagree on everything, but you hit the nail on the head with this one. This is the absolute worst EVER timing for a visit. The Hall will not be its usual, rocking self tomorrow. What a damn shame. SHOW UP FOLKS!!! Support the players in their last home game. It is completely possible to cheer like hell for our boys while standing firm in our desire to replace the coach. Win this game and we still have a shot at Cinderella. I for one am damn tired of filling out tourney brackets without Indiana in it. We can help avoid that this year by showing up and creating the best home court advantage in the nation. Forget about coach Crean for 2 20 min halves and focus on these youngsters accomplishing something. They deserve that much. They came to play for US!!! Support INDIANA!!!

. I think that specific verbiage would have surfaced publicly by now. I wouldn't hold a ton of stock in it. I'm sure as hell going to waste an hour of my time trying to find out though.

. Bill Walton has got to be the single most insufferable sports commentators in the entire history of sports or commentary. I feel god awful for the guy they keep pairing him with. You can tell the guy can't stand him. So many passive aggressive shots fired at him.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

. Agreed. Here's to hoping that Brad still has that love and passion for Indiana Basketball that he once had. Hopefully he hears us loud and clear. After Sampson we all wondered who could save Indiana Basketball. Then we shifted to being hopeful after the unexpected Crean hiring. This time around, the fanbase is almost unanimous in knowing who they want. Glass is truly at a fork in the road. Both routes have very clear outcomes. Become a legend at your alma mater or become one of the most hated men in the state.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

. Like his brother, he will end up flourishing at a top tier program. He's the most intriguing guy for me. Stevens is the obvious no brainer but Archie Miller is superstar coach in the making. Dude can flat out coach. He has the exact same issues that we have this year and nowhere near the talent everywhere else and he's grossly outperforming Crean. He's gotta be given consideration.

. Collins would have been the perfect hire at the time we hired Crean. Now it's HomeRun or bust unfortunately.

    . My favorite post EVER!
  21. . The money isn't as big an issue as people think it is. If the pressure to remove Crean is strong enough, then the money will be there. I think he's here for one more season regardless. We would need to lose 4 straight games from now until the season is over for Crean to be gone.

    Post Game IU vs. Northwestern

I agree with you that Chris Collins in  no way deserves the IU job at this point. Not that I don't see him being a big time winner down the road, but this next hire has to be knocked out of the park. All avatars aside, I think that Stevens is truly IU's Renaissance Man. After him, I think the list of guys who could meet our expectations are few and far between. I don't envy Fred Glass.

. He's definitely a good coach. He's got all time great coaching ability but he's also a disingenuous slimeball and shameless self promoter.

    Post Game IU vs. Northwestern

I'm at a crossroads. I don't want to stop supporting the team bc of the players. I really love the players. They deserve our support. They have a ton of pressure at such a young age, playing for Indiana. I feel like Yogi Ferrell is a championship caliber PG who was built for March. He may miss the tournament for 2 of the 3 years he's been here. On the other hand, it's impossible to get excited about IU basketball going forward. I feel like I'm being forced to either accept mediocrity or be shown the door. I grew up playing and having an immense passion for basketball. I played on very successful teams and have been around some excellent coaches. I feel like when I watch an IU game I'm being taught my ABC's once again, only in Mandarin Chinese this go round. It's like I'm being told that everything I have learned about basketball was wrong. It's frustrating beyond measure. Does anyone else feel like Tom Crean is continually trying to reinvent the wheel? The fundamental principles of the game on the court and on the sidelines, doesn't need gross change. Tom Crean is not innovative!!!!! That win against Maryland at home was not innovative genius. It was an anomaly. We shot 80% from 3 and over 60% from the field. If you go back and watch the game, you will maybe see 3-4 shots that weren't contested. Now I don't want to come off as a pretentious prick that thinks that I could be a better coach than Tom Crean. I couldn't. What I am saying is that I know basketball well enough to see that this doesn't work. It's dysfunctional at best.
