Potential fallout from coaching change
HoosierTrav replied to HoosiersLoveBanners's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
. I don't claim to have any insider knowledge whatsoever. I'll be completely transparent. My barber said he cuts the hair of a prominent, retired IU Med Dr. who doesn't have a ton of pull but rubs elbows with those who do. He said the customer of his told him that Crean and IU are mutually parting ways and Indiana is VERY confident that they have a great chance to hire who they've reached out to. He said he was told that the fanbase is getting what it wants. He never said any coaches name. I'm just choosing to believe that my fantasy is going to manifest. -

. I have zero confirmation of anything. I'm honestly just convinced at certain rumors and I've decided what makes the most sense to me. I've went all in on my gut feeling. I think Crean resigns Bc his family is uncomfortable and that Brad Stevens will be our next coach. Call me crazy but in my head this makes way more sense than the theory that we have little chance at landing him. -

. I would not be very excited if we hired Marshall. I don't see him taking on the challenge of IU and being any better than Crean, honestly. It's going to take a very very special coach to satisfy our fanbase. HomeRun or chug along with Crean. **I believe the HomeRun is coming this spring. -

AJ Guyton said he watched WSU in person this season and that we are the better team. He said the only thing he worries about is who guards Baker. Also said that Yogi Ferrell is by far the best guard they will have faced. -

Spot on. Every game we narrowly lost this season, was a game where either Troy or JB completely s*** the bed. Yogi is even money to show up and outplay his counterpart. Best PG in america. I have a feeling he is going to light Van Fleet and Frank Mason up. -

I think RJ has to guard him the entire game. Yogi is the best player on the floor, so I'm confident that he outplays FVF. I love the fact that WSU and Kansas are both small up front. I really like our draw. I suppose it would be nice to have been put in Villanova's bracket, but if we happen to beat WSU and Kansas, I think we land TB and enter next season with Final Four expectations. -
I love the Script Indiana idea. Little off topic but I'm putting an Indiana Hoosiers themed sports bar in my basement. One wall will be entirely Crimson with a huge script Indiana sign on it. I'll be sure to post pics once its completed.

Huge fan of the unis last night. Honestly, I hope we completely move to these. I'm all for fresh change. Kansas' alternates look awesome. Whatever helps our brand with these youngsters. As long as we arent cheating, I'm all for change. Not like Indiana has had the exact same uniform in our entire history. Folks get wayyyyyyyyyyyy too caught up in that crap.

I would be eternally grateful if everyone could say a prayer of protection for my family as we go in Friday to have our first son.

. No way Ron Patterson gets Crean'd twice, right?

. And Jordan Crawford, Armon Bassett. I can't remember at all the majority of IU fans questioning Kelvin Sampsons in game decisions, whereas Tom Crean nearly sets Twitter ablaze each game with his head scratchers. -

. You know just as well as I do that many students at the game have their parents there as well. I'd take my kid to the woodshed in front of God and everybody if I witnessed that garbage. Maybe that's just me. Totally makes the rumors that Joani wants out have strong legs. -

. That's fu**ing terrible. Leave his damn kids out of this. What a bunch of pussies. -
Did anyone else hear Dakich's show today? He really layed into Mike Decourcey of the Sporting News. Decourcey basically called all of the Hoosier fans clueless and had no idea what we were talking about with our criticisms of Crean. I'm not a huge Dakich fan but he crushed him on the show today. He really stuck up for us in terms of the wealth of bball knowledge we actually have collectively.

I get that but he already makes $5 million annually. I think we can match that price but that doesn't leave much room to sweeten the pot. On the other hand: Brad Stevens is making $3.6 M/Per in a city that is far from home, to coach a franchise where his success isn't directly tied to his decision making. He could take a $1.4 Mil pay raise (More if you consider the cost of living between Bean town and B-Town), live at home, coach his favorite childhood program, and have 99% control over his success. My opinion anyways. ****DISCLAIMER**** I would LOVE to have Billy D. He would be a Demi God at IU. I just cant see this. Keep the eyes on the prize and pay whatever you need to pay for it (Stevens). Don't take no for an answer. Send his wife a bouquet Red and White roses every Friday.

Billy D turned the UK job down twice and the Orlando Magic once. I'd say this has a 0% chance of happening. Not trying to be a pessimist. Just dont think this is a realistic possibility. We have much greater chances at Stevens IMHO.

. Sampson was right on par with Crean in the recruiting game as well. -
. I've heard that he has said he will listen. Throw the piggy bank at him and promise him the job security that Tom Crean was afforded.

Potential coaching change suggestions

. Correction: Alabama hired Saban and Kentucky hired Satan. -
. I agree

Just so sick and tired of the excuses. I don't have anything left in the tank folks. I'm all used up. Time to move on. Regardless of who we can hire, it needs to happen. Crean just needed to get into the tournament this year. That's it! This is the worst end of season collapse I've ever witnessed.
