You know what I'd be interested in seeing? How many teams have had a terrible defense while having a truly elite offense (Top 3 in nation) and what type of finish are they capable of? I suspect that there aren't many teams that have been in this position. I think our defense is going to improve drastically. We will be a top 75 defense IMO and  possibly the top offense in the country. I'm excited for this season. I just hope our fans dont carry over their boos from last year. If that's how the fan support turns out for these boys to start, then we arent giving them much incentive to give it their all going forward.

. I think you're jumping the gun on this recruiting class man. You can put us down for at least 1 McD's AA. No reason or evidence to suggest it won't happen. I agree that Priller, April, and Gelon, are reaches but we aren't elite anymore. We don't have enough pull to bring in a loaded 4-5 star class. We are no where as attractive as our fans think we are. With that said, I think we are going to finish the class with Cujo, Maker, and Davis.

Not a Crean Fan but:   1 Final Four 2 time Conference USA Coach of the Year Jim Phelan & ESPN NATIONAL coach of the year B1G Champion (Alford Never Accomplished)   Alford has a better win % but you can make the argument that D3 Manchester College doesnt count and that Alford has never had to completely rebuild a program like Crean has Marquette and IU. Also, Crean has severly whipped Alford on the recruiting trail.

Let's let the facts come to the surface before we start bashing the dude. This is my biggest pet peeve with society nowadays. We treat every case like this as "guilty until proven innocent."

. From what I've heard in the past: McRobbie doesn't micromanage athletics. So that sort of makes his comments that much more of a big deal. I suspect there is no more room for not even one more straw on this camels back.

I don't know why any kid would want to play for UCLA. They have the worst fan support of any traditional blue blood (not even close), and they have Steve Alford as coach. Steve Alford has done nothing in his long coaching career to make anyone think he's able to win or develop talent. There have been rumors that he actually bad mouths Crean and the Indiana program to recruits (that both IU and UCLA are both involved with.) The nerve of that guy! I'm not a Crean supporter by any stretch of the imagination but Crean is a FARRRRRRRR more accomplished coach than Alford. He's a joke and his program is a joke. He's riding a short wave. As soon as a few 5* Cali kids come there to play and realize that they were sold a mirage, not another will step foot on that campus.

 I hope this is a joke. If so, its a real gut buster.

. I hear you. I definitely can respect that position. It's obvious that there is a pattern developing. These things are impossible to ignore. I suppose that I just can't bring myself to even hold Holt at fault for the first incident. I think people are being extremely irrational, selfish (in their own right), and hypocritical. If a guy had a single beer, it's a single beer. It in no way influenced/impaired his actions. Devin Davis, while drunk, did something so incredibly dumb, that he put a few innocent people in a horrible position. Now I hear that Holt never had a sip and was around it, and it drives me insane that people still want him kicked off. I truly feel that deep down this just comes from some people's bloodthirst for CTC. They aren't willing at all to hear all of the facts surrounding the event. It has nothing to do with fair justice/punishment for these young men. It's more of an opportunity for some to exploit the smallest miscues of the team, in the name of cranking back up the #FireTomCrean machine. Kicking Holt off of the team is a huge mistake on our part. I think it contributes as a deterrent towards the possibility of a desirable coach taking the job, in the future. It has to make recruits wonder whether they want to come here. I wouldn't want to come to a school where I was under the strongest of microscopes. A microscope that doesn't always see things so clearly. No jersey is worth that to me, honestly. And I love IU basketball to death.
