    Emmitt Holt dismissed from team

Exactly. Purdue and Maryland will have at least 2 bigs on the floor at the same time. Maryland will have a front court of Stone (5), Carter (4), and Layman (3). We cant just slide Troy to the 4 against them. Holt had gained 15 pounds of muscle and was much better suited to go in and bang with Carter, and allow Troy to matchup with Layman. Now we have an instant mismatch. I just dont see us getting much out of Biefeldt and Morgan. I'd love to be wrong on this. Purdue will put us in a similar predicament as well.

Has anybody used Sling TV to get ESPN?

Get an Amazon Fire Stick or Fire TV then put Kodi on it. You will be able to watch anything you want with the proper add ons. Sports Devil is the best for live sports.

Who Do You Consider IU's Top 3 Rivals?

    1. Kentucky 2. Purdue 3. Illinois w/ Maryland on their tail.

IU's Most Important Player This Season

Tough one. I'm inclined to go with Troy. We went as he went last year. Yogi is our only constant.

    2016 Wish List

That Early Duke game or Kansas game could be huge for recruiting. If we beat a national powerhouse on a large stage it could be a catapult. Then again, I thought having 2 top 5 draft picks in the same year would be too.

. It honestly boils down to what coach comes in. Simple as that. Some coaches are every bit as "instant impact" as some of these frosh lotto draft picks. If we were to hire a guy who has to prove he can perform all facets of the job at an elite level, then you're likely to experience a rebuild. Guys like Coach K, Calipari, Pitino, Ol ROY, Self, Stevens (now has NBA credentials), can make an instant impact. They usually keep the important pieces from leaving and immediately sign impact classes. These guys don't have to prove anything. Their reputations are well known.
  8. Before I begin my boycott of the IUBB program, I would like to ask the posters of this site a couple questions. With the recent dismissal of Emmitt Holt, when do we stop exempting our coach and staff from having ANY accountability? For the folks who are seemingly "on the fence" when it comes to Crean's job security and are waiting to see his on court performance this season before making firm decisions on the matter: Now that Crean has been exempted from over 10 instances of player indiscretions, in a short time frame, are you willing to extend him another excuse for anything less than a top 3 finish and deep tourney run? I for one am all out of passes on my end. My support isn't something that he's entitled to just Bc he's our coach. I believe that would be blind support. He should have to take some responsibility here. He's running the program and the program is falling way short of its traditional standards, on and off the court. When does he face the reaper?

    A look at the future

The problem here is that we threw money at a guy who didn't deserve it. I'm talking about targeting proven, elite level coaches and making sure that money isn't the reason they turn down the job. Knight was definitely someone who established himself as a winner at Army, and he was a fast riser. Fife HAS to prove more before he gets the Indiana job. We cannot afford anything less than a homerun with the next hire.

I like Fife but he's not ready for the IU job. His next job needs to be a high level mid major program where he can prove to be a winner consistently. I'd prefer he took the Archie Miller route before we hire him. We have to start setting our sights higher and pull out the checkbook.

    OG

I've been pretty high on OG. He's about as overlooked as a recruit can get. Developed fast but late and possesses all the traits to be a star. He has tremendous size at his position, shoots the ball very well from the perimeter, has the potential to be an elite elite defender, and he has Troy Williams-esque athleticism. I think he's a year away from making a major impact, although it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he shocks us all.

    A look at the future

If we have a nationally relevant program that is keeping their nose clean and routinely giving us something to be proud about, the noise will be reduced to a soft whisper. Of course there will always be those that refuse to be happy regardless of the situation, but dont fool yourself into believing it will be the same as now.

I keep telling myself it will but I keep ending up on BTB's daily to see people's POV on the thread I posted. Like drug rehab, I will likely need to ween off. Cold turkey is not a route I'm equipped to travel.    I was wondering when someone was going to call me out.

Any IU beat writer have the cajones to cite this quote to CTC?  I genuinely wonder if there is a fear among journalists, that their credentials might be revoked, if they were to embarrass coach like that. That'd be embarrassing for him.

    Holding Coaches Accountable

You're entitled to your opinion. I respect it. Just dont try to paint me as a someone trying to short change these young men, or call me less of a fan than you. Some of us have have different levels of tolerance for things such as these. I had your exact same attitude the previous 10 times that something similar or much worse had happened. This was my tipping point. I tip my cap to you for being able to completely toss it aside and continue to have a positive view of our program. I'm just not able anymore. I have a huge problem with people who call themselves leaders, yet continually pass the buck when things go awry. I have a huge problem with "leaders" who preach on zero tolerance and accountability, yet exempt themselves from these same standards. Its literally no different than our current state of politics. Not a single instance of indiscretion has been DIRECTLY CTC's fault. BUT......There is a reason that these things seem to keep happening here at IU, more so than at other basketball programs, and that reason is that a culture has been established (or one hasn't been established by year 8). I love IU and all that I was raised to believe IU once stood for. This is not the Indiana that I can be proud of. We have a very bad image nationally. We are a program that seems to be out of control. We have guys constantly breaking the law,  and a delusional fanbase that seems to think it deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the UK's, UNC's, KU's, Duke's, UCONN's, etc. You mentioned our amazing fanbase. I agree with you. We do have an amazing fan base.  I also think that we deserve better than the product we are being force fed. I also cant stomach supporting a coach that constantly blames players mistakes in the post game interviews and players off court actions, then immediately preaches about not having leaders and that kids need to be held accountable. If CTC is a man of such morality, as the Indy Star claims, then I would think he would start holding himself accountable. If he really cared about laying the right foundation, he would include himself in this zero tolerance policy. Its his team and its his program. Therefore, the state of IU basketball is squarely on his shoulders. He should have resigned. He's clearly not the man for the job.

No irony there. Brad Stevens didnt have a culture issue at Butler, with many other players causing issues. Nice try though. You can point out one player under Brad Stevens. Know how many I can point out under Crean?

. We didn't need this dismissal to answer that question. See Luke Fischer and Noah Vonleh

    Emmitt Holt dismissed from team

Here's a thought that might work and provide insight into just how much these players respect Crean: After dismissing Holt, CTC, being he honest and fair man that he is known to be, places himself under the same blanket of zero tolerance. He realizes that this is a trend in HIS program and he is indirectly responsible, since he is the leader of the team.

I'm done with IU basketball. Not until the coach and the AD is gone. The coach hasn't received a single lick of punishment for a single issue. I'm done. This was the final straw for me. It's been real fellas.
