(2016) PF T.J. Leaf to UCLA

Could be total bs but I believe it. The past players can't stand Crean. That's no secret. -

. I'm having one hell of a time finding the article I read that made mention of it. It was an Arizona site speaking on the decommit, possible reasons behind it, other teams getting involved, and it mentioned something along the lines of "Alford taking a page from Thad Matta in the way he spoke of Indiana coach Tom Crean. -

Exactly how I feel about it. I guess everyone has to start somewhere but it seems Hurley is selling that he can coach up pros without having coached any pros. He'll be a flash in the pan IMHO. -

Ken Bikoff interview w/Fred Glass
HoosierTrav replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm part of the few fans who believe that Glass has a plan in place to replace Crean with a homerun hire. I think he's far smarter and connected than we give him credit for. An impulse hire when a contract buyout is insanely high, wouldn't have necessarily been a good thing for the program or his future afterwards. I would bet a few bucks that Glass knocks the next hire out of the park. Now that I've had time to cool off, from last season, I feel like I've been able to see this whole ordeal from a different perspective. I truly believe he kept Crean on board Bc it would have been a mistake at the time. He knows something that we don't. So many rumors were spread last offseason about potential coaching changes. One that seemed to be on the tongues of many was that there were feelers sent out to possible replacements. It seems likely. -

Get the soundcloud app and search for the title "Fred Glass". -
Kodi... Kodi is the answer to all of your woes my friends. You can install Kodi onto your computer then onto an Amazon Fire TV/Stick or Apple TV. Then you just want to install some add ons (very easy). SportsDevil is the best add on for live sports. There is also an espn 3 add on that should help in this particular case...... You're all welcome.

(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State
HoosierTrav replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I've seen him in person 1 time at the Marshall County Hoopfest (I made the trip to see Thomas Bryant and Thon Maker). The two players I was most impressed with offensively, was Malik Newman and Kegler. Newman is incredibly explosive and athletic. He went from complete stop to faster than anyone else on the court in a split second and Kegler was like watching a 6' 8" (More like 6' 6") ballerina. Scoring is effortless for him. He can give it to you any way you want it too. In transition, in the post, mid range, from the perimeter, set shots, off the bounce, off of screens, etc. After I watched him, I went and found streams of ACD's full games. He does this against all of the top players in his class too. I cant wait to see him and Harry Giles in the pick and roll this season at Oak Hill. The biggest question that I have with Kegler at this point, is "can he guard the 3 in college on a nightly basis?" If so, hes an all american by his sophomore/junior year. Kegler would be a major coup for IU. If you cant tell by now, I'm extremely high on him. He reminds me a lot of high school James Harden when the ball is in his hands. He doesnt quite get off the ground like JH but his ball handling and the way he operates in the pick in roll is very similar IMO. Remember James Harden was the most underrated player in his senior class as well. -
(2017) SF/PF Malik Williams to UofL

He's definitely not a bad kid, by all accounts. He just showed bad judgement. Inviting everyone on facebook and twitter to your party is a very very dumb idea. Hard to fathom a kid not learning a hard lesson from how this decision turned out. I'm still on board with wanting him. I just hope that this made him appreciate the opportunities that he has available to him. -
(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

I agree that Bridges is an elite bball player. I was speaking on his ability to score anywhere other than the paint. I did say his body and defensive ability are further along. Troy was a better passer out of HS IMO. I do stand by my comment though. I've seen Bridges play a few times and he does not shoot the ball very well at all. This is a big deal in college. He's not going to be able to bully his way to buckets as easily at the collegiate level. He wont be around long enough for us to see that shot develop either, IMO. I guess I look at it this way: Would I rather have a Julius Randle-type player that gives us a 1 year window to make a final four run or a Khalif Wyatt-type player that gives us a 3-4 year window? That's my take anyways. I love Bridges and I think he's going to be a very good pro. I just dont think he's the type that comes in a consistently dominates the college game right away. Not on the offensive end anyways. Kegler is, in my eyes, the most underrated player in the class. There isn't a guy in this 2016 class that can stop him from getting 20-30 on any given night. His offensive polish is pro level right now. One more thing that I dont think anyone is talking about right now is "fit". Tom Crean teams really depend on guys who can score the ball from the perimeter. Kegler fits this mold to a T, while Bridges will have to develop into that role and frankly, we dont have the luxury of waiting around with Bridges. Like I said earlier, he's likely gone after his frosh year. IU is applying the full court press with Kegler at this point. I believe Crean and Co. have come to the realization of just how well Kegler does fit. I read an article not long ago that mentioned how hard Ben Howland was pressing for a commitment from Kegler on an unofficial. Kegler refused to give that commitment and one of his reasons was that he still wanted to "see IU". Contrary to popular belief (or the 247 crystal ball) I think Kegler is ours to lose. I think his interest in IU is much higher than public opinion would suggest. Him resisting high pressure situations from Howland and Hurley, combined with the scheduling of his visit during HH all but confirms this to me personally. Just a strong hunch. -
(2016) PG Jaylen Fisher to TCU

. BB is an elite defender and can shoot better from the perimeter than he's given credit. I agree. Bruce Brown is the easy pick for me. -
. I'd be happy if we finished with DeRon Davis and a PG. Next years team would be solid with these guys.

(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

I'd also like to add that Kegler is something special in the pick and roll. He is damn near unstoppable when he has his jumper going. Uses screens incredibly well and only needs a tiny bit of space. -

HoosierTrav replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'm all in with Kegler. Bridges is the obvious #1 option but Kegler is a stud. I think we often get mesmerized by a players next level athleticism and overlook their ability to put the ball in the hole. Bridges has some serious offensive limitations. IMO Bridges is at a very similar stage in his offensive development as Troy Williams his freshman year. Don't get me wrong, Bridges body and defensive ability is further along but he needs work when it comes to scoring the ball from anywhere other than the paint. Kegler on the other hand is an extremely skilled forward who can score on anyone in the country. Getting him is a huge get. Bridges is gone after his frosh season barring stalled development. I don't see that happening either. Kegler is going to be around for 3-4 years. Someone made the mention that Kegler reminded them of CWat. I'm not sure I agree but I see where it comes from. Kegler is quicker laterally and can score effortlessly off the bounce. He's also slightly a better athlete than CWat. CWat always seemed to have concrete in his shoes. Kegler isn't a world class jumper by any means but it looks easier for him than it did for CWat. -
I sure hope you're right. That would be awesome.

(2016) SG Rawle Alkins to Arizona
HoosierTrav replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
. I agree with Hov. Adding Jones shouldn't deter others who want to handle the ball. Jones is a combo guard who can play both guard positions. Rawle, at small forward, can also initiate the offense in the dribble drive on many occasions. -
