Thomas Bryant at the 5 and a 6' 10" 220 (will be bigger after our weight program) will absolutely make us elite in that category. You don't have to land once in a lifetime talent (Thon) to be considered elite. I don't see many teams dominating us down low with TB and DD. I asked Jerry Meyer what he thought of a potential frontcourt duo of TB and DD and he said, essentially, that it would be a very punishing duo. Note: Thon and Matur aren't in the same grade. They won't play together collegiately.

I'm a little nervous about this decision but mostly confident. The nervousness is due to how important this kid is to our frontcourt next year. We go from being a good front court without, to an elite frontcourt with the addition of Davis. Get Davis and go full steam into the Rawle Alkins sweepstakes. Imagine that defense.

Wow. So many of us think we are going to stink it up in Maui and against Duke. I'm not with you guys on this one. I think we win Maui and beat Duke. We'll climb into the top 5, challenge for the B1G title, and run out of gas come tournament time. That's my prediction. Duke doesn't scare me at all, especially early in the season with their youth.

2012-2013 vs. 2015-2016

True story. I'd add to it but this pretty much sums it up. -
Cheaters, Cheaters, Cheaters

I'd be crazy to say that cheating, in some form or fashion, isn't something that happens frequently. I'm not sure I believe that Howland is cheating though. He's riding a lot of hype and has quite the resume, in comparison to the Crean's and Turgeon's of the world. So far, two of his very best recruits are from Miss. Easy for hometown kids to feel the love at first and want to represent their home. -
(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

Just wait until they play Kentucky in Starkville. They'll be playing as visitors in their own building. I'll be tuning into that one. -
(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

The zags article confirmed its MSU for Kegler. No surprise there. He and his family (along with S. Herard's) were actively recruiting Davis to join them at MSU. Not sure why he would string us and the twerps along further though. Creating a top 3 days before the decision when you already made your mind up just seems disrespectful to the program's who invested time and resources into you. Not blasting the kids character by any means. Just think it could be handled differently. -

I agree. Not sure why, but the other half of my post is missing. -

The more desperate a school is, the more desperate the measures they take in hiring HC's. Indiana will be desperate when looking for their next HC but they won't be desperate enough to take a chance on a guy who has already been fired for bad performance at a blueblood program. We will be looking for a superstar HC. Either one who already has a stellar resume, with little to no blemishes, or a young coach who is majorly trending upward and shares most or all of the characteristics that the game's most elite coaches share. -

Five-Star TJ Leaf will announce between UCLA, UCLA, & UCLA on Thursday. Versatile PF. I fixed it for him. -
You know what comes after grazing, right? With the amount of poo we've seen on that field in the last century+, we dont need anymore to clean up.

(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

It wouldn't surprise me to find out there were impermissible benefits being passed around and it wouldn't surprise me if this recruiting success was done within rules of compliance. These schools have more football money than they know what to do with. They hired big names and its working for them. I say it over and over again but kids don't go somewhere to play for the name on the front of the jersey. They go to play for the coach. I know this is a tough pill for some to swallow but its the truth. There are countless examples of this. Pearl and Howland have always been stellar recruiters and Avery Johnson won an NBA title as a player and coached 2 NBA teams, one of which made it the NBA Finals. Tom Crean on the other hand is a coach on the hot seat (with the fan base anyways) and his resume isnt quite as appetizing as those of Johnson's and Howland's. I'd be surprised if we lost a recruit to Auburn but losing one or two to Howland or Johnson, with Crean as coach, does not surprise me in the slightest. Crean needs a MONSTER year this season IMO. The support of the fan base is imperative. It absolutely has a say in whether a kid decides whether he wants to play here or not. I'm not saying it is always the ultimate factor, but it's HUGE! *** I will say that this years team has the opportunity to do something really special. With all of the parody this season, they have the ability to be a Final Four team. I'm usually one of the first to let recruiting struggles affect my mood for the current season. Not this year. This team deserves all of our support and optimism. Hopefully we dont let the mood from our recruiting carry over to this season. Let's cross that bridge when we get to it. -

The only thing clear right now is that Kegler is going to MSU. Other than that, everything else is pretty damn cloudy. -

Considering Kegler and Herard are both recruiting Davis to play with them at Miss State, it pretty much means we aren't getting Kegler and we are now very seriously close to losing Davis as well. -

Don't forget that Troy Williams was a Jordan Brand All American. Basically an AA. All of the players beside Decker and Williams in the Jordan game were McD's AA's. So we really have 4 starting. -

I'm over Thon. Ed Smith really turns me off to Thon. This should be Thons decision to make, not Ed Smith's. The fact that Ed Smith has history with both Hurley and Brey, is troubling to me. It doesn't look like he's putting the kid in the very best position possible but rather putting himself in the best position possible. His reasoning as to why these schools would be good fits for Thon are hilarious (to me anyways.)
