Think about it. These guys were out there in the second half and nothing was working. They kept looking over to the sideline for direction and got zero adjustment.... They were beat into submission by their coach every bit as much as they were by Duke. I'm proud of the effort they came out with and the focus. They just have to play with one limb cut off. I'm in the group that says there is nowhere to go but up at this point, if Crean were to be let go now.

I wish I could like this 1000x

I'm sick of this excuse. You honestly think these kids don't want to win? What a joke. EVERY kid was a winner before they were coached by Crean. They just flat out don't have the leader on the sideline to compete with high level D1 teams. They are playing complex matchup zones that look like they've just been taught them that day, even though they cannot play fundamental man defense. They play HARD but are LOST. They have been let down by their leader. Plain and simple. This team would look completely different with a competent in game coach. There's no way these boys don't want to win.

Indiana Basketball is torturing me.

We officially will end the non con with zero impressive wins. What a ******* embarrassment!!!

That's quite the acting job by Greyson Allen

I'm just gonna hang out here and meet everyone after the game. #FireTomCrean

Not the player.... It's the strategy and preparation. Plenty of capable defenders have worn the stripes in the last 8 years.

Terrible terrible defense and rebounding. No matter how much you tell yourself to expect this, it's still extremely maddening. How can you get 3 straight layups w/ 2 coming from drives at the perimeter all the way in uncontested?
-
Coach K mad that some calls went the other way. How dare they.

Don Fischer on the call.....just in time for the Duke game

I did not realize this until just now, when looking at our schedule: This is our final opportunity for a quality non conference win. Notre Dame has lost some gimmes and aren't what many expected them to be. If we lose this game tonight and finish in the middle of the pack in the B1G, we could very easily be on the outside of the bubble looking in. That is CRAZY.

New Coach Salary And Criteria...$5 million?

There were so many rumors floating around last season. It really made it hard for me to believe any of it. -

That's the problem with having literally one guy on our big board that is a can't miss legend. We miss on Stevens and we are rolling the dice. No matter who we bring in. I agree with you on not wanting marginally better results than what Crean's produced. I'd be MUCH more comfortable in having Sean Miller than Tom Crean but anyone other than Stevens scares the crap out of me. -

And even the fact that his coaching prowess is debatable is an upgrade over Crean. The verdict is in on Crean. -
Agreed

New Coach Salary And Criteria...$5 million?

Say Wade didn't have his issues in high school....Would he have chosen to play for Tom Crean and Marquette, with other top dogs wanting him? And no he couldn't be double or triple teamed...You dont double and triple team guys who can beat you with the pass. He WAS a once in a generation type player in that he was NBA All Star ready at both ends of the floor. He dominated the NBA finals and won a championship and Finals MVP in his 3rd year in the NBA. He carried that Marquette team on his back offensively and defensively. It definitely wasn't some masterful job by Coach Crean. It was basically the equivalent of Mike Brown getting the Cleveland Cavs to the Eastern Finals. Sure, it goes on his resume, but it was 100% due to having Lebron James beat the Pistons by himself. That is how dominant Wade was during that tournament run. Sometimes one player is THE reason why a team achieves high levels of success. Believe it or not, its the truth. I'm not saying Sean Miller is the guy I or the rest of Hoosier Nation wants but I think you're being a bit stubborn in admitting the fact that he's a clear upgrade over what we have now. You keep going back to his success in the tournament. He has had consistent success in my eyes. He's made 3 elite 8's at Zona and 1 at Xavier. That means he is putting his teams in position to win one game and be in a final four. If it weren't for running into a legendary B1G coach and 2 eventual lotto picks (Wisconsin), in consecutive years, he'd have likely made 2 FF's. I'll welcome that kind of tournament success over what we've experienced under Tom Crean any day of the week. And dont belittle recruiting the West coast and winning the PAC 12. Very fertile grounds out there for players and a lot of championship team reside there. Its an accomplishment. Miller is a significant upgrade. Admit it already. -

He's made 4 elite 8's, including the last 2 seasons. Both times running into the Wisconsin Badgers. That's not making a final four but that's knocking on the darn door much more than our coach has. You keep knocking and eventual you find yourself on the other side. He's also never had a once in a generation type player like Dwayne Wade to carry him there with triple doubles. Miller is a far better coach all across the board and less than 1% of anyone who watches college basketball closely, would argue against that. Sean Miller IMO is a guy who is just getting warmed up. -

He brings consistency and an opportunity for a final four. Clear upgrade over our current situation. Not even close IMO. -

He was asked in an interview in April whether he hated recruiting and he said that he loved recruiting. He said they tried to cast a small net and focus on guys that they knew would fit their system and culture. -
I have zero direct connections with booster of the University, let alone any influential boosters. Anyone on here have a good feel for the type of mood these people are in? Whats the general consensus, in terms of their feelings towards the current coach?

That and I believe in the law of attraction. Think and act as though you already have something you want and it will manifest itself. So I keep telling myself I KNOW he's going to be our next coach and eventually this will happen. -
