He's had a couple of good takes this season. I believe that could happen more often and closer to the rim.

As long as we don't get off topic in a way that isn't pumping sunshine. What are we thinking we need from the portal if the likely scenarios play out? Leaving: Race, Kopp, TJD, JHS
-
That was a really rough sentence. I wish there was a way to show off his ability to score at the rim but driving and backing down smaller guards. He has a huge advantage over must defenders (that would be guarding him) but we don't have the offense or personnel to take advantage of that.

Wish there was a way part of that going off was scoring at the rim. He has another dimension to his game that we don't get to see that much.

I couldn't care less what draw purdoodoo got or how far they get. It's about IU and hanging banners. -

Isn't JHS listed at 6'6"? -

I really like our draw and the possibilities to advance past a Sweet 16. -

Baffling because of the size we have on the court. Is Gallo our shortest player that gets consistent minutes? -

I wonder where else it's been discussed for a hot minute... It's crazy announcers can see it while they're calling games too. When we bring that effort and intensity we can play some great defense. -

haha such a purdoodoo way to backup their conference regular season championship by 3 games is to have the easiest path you could imagine with the 9 seed, 13 seed, and a 10 seed. I'm sure we would have won it with those opponents. -

As you mentioned, our "shooters" are rarely ever shot ready in our half court offense. I see them more ready on fast breaks than in the half court which is weird. Edit: we go into long stretches of just standing when the ball goes into the post too. -

Are you projecting that XJ and JHS would be All Big 1.o and possible AA? I believe JHS was Big 1.o FOTY and 2nd/3rd All conference? I could definitely see him contending for First team should by some miracle he returns. First Team AA? Possible but not probable. XJ was a Big 1.o honorable mention (if he made a team) about a year ago before he suffered an injury that kept him out for the majority of this season. First Team AA? Highly doubtful. He was playing his best basketball down the stretch last season but think he was still turning it over too much and not shooting great inside the arc. He was playing aggressive though. Somewhat related note - JG was playing well down the stretch and that carried over to a very inconsistent season when given the opportunity. I get that we want to be in that contender conversation but we're just not there yet. JHS and XJ being the starting backcourt could help with that. We would need to figure out something on the wings with 3 and D players along with several bigs. Reneau is solid and has potential but not sure he's the answer for another undersized "big" who only operates within 5' of the rim.

I never stated we didn't compete at times this year. We did overcome a 1-4 start of our own making to finish a few games above .500 in the Big 1.o which was competing. IU has done some really nice things this season while falling flat in other areas. I've been discussing both throughout the season. If you're good with everything IU has done that's awesome for you. When there are plenty of examples to "rules" that people believe exist and identifying those examples hurt your feelings you don't have to read them or respond to them. It's really your choice. I believe the saying is something like "life is 10% your actions and 90% your reactions."

It would be interesting to see the data on this. Giving up threes isn't the only reason for losses but a piece to it. I would guess giving up offensive rebounds from either threes or attempting to block shots which results in quick and easy 2s along with fouling the **** out of teams had a lot more to do with it. It didn't seem our lineup matched our results. We had a "big" lineup but struggled to rebound and get to the line enough for that "big" lineup. The modern offensive you mentioned at the end also has a lot to do with reaching our potential on that end of the floor. -
Like having a pass thrown to you that is deflected and that leader kind of trots down the court for an excellent view of another 3 dropping on us?
-
Heck of a finish, can't believe Tyger missed that FT but they still got a great shot to win it at the end
-
What a shot by Ramey!!!

Close game with 5 minutes left in the PAC 12 Championship. Crazy UCLA is competing with the injuries they've had
-
Obviously Miller and Scheyer didn't get the first year coach limitations memo. Miller finished third (?) int he Big East and Scheyer won the damn conference tourney. What are they thinking?

I didn't like the shot with that much time still left without running something. The problem with that is the two guys shooting 40+% might not have gotten the shot off in time as evidenced by passing it around for a shot clock violation earlier in the game. Kopp has to be the leader in shot fakes for a "shooter" or not shooting when open. I believe part of it is his slow release and fear of getting blocked. -

It's difficult to compete all the time. We have early games that we're not awake for and sometimes those late games we'd rather be other places. Sometimes we have a quicker turnaround than other teams. We're the only team that has had injuries this season. Sometimes teams continue to hit circus shots against us and it messes with our feels. We're confused how teams can shoot so well from deep against us while also getting to the line and outrebounding us. All in all I'd say competing 60% of the time is quite excellent. If we were playing baseball we'd have a half a billion dollar contract.
