Dusty May - FAU HC - Former IU student manager
HoosierAloha replied to ISP's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Glad he decided to secretly become the coach in waiting while continuing to be the head coach at FAU for a few more years. It'll give him a chance to make a few more runs and hone his craft before moving up to the big leagues in a few years. -
At least we moved up a few decades.. that's progress

(C) Kel 'el Ware - COMMITTED TO INDIANA

We're going back to the Super Bowl!!! Knew those inside sources were correct *I reserve the right to change my mind that he is a bad fit and wanted too much money or too many shots or wasn't a good person if he doesn't commit this weekend -

When have we ever overreacted when an insider gave us good insider information? -
Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
HoosierAloha replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I still hope we land both of them or at least 1/2 but will wait until it's officially announced. We love that insider scoop of information we want to hear and will find ways to cover when it's wrong. We do some things really well at IU - our "insiders" getting the fanatics pumped is one of them. -

Right after we get the commit from Ware? -
I like it, always keeping an out helps with that. Kind of reinforces the wait and see approach over getting pumped about the info you want to hear from insiders.

Two individuals looking to get shots up. Think we dodged bullets with both of them. -

For those people to exist you need collaborators who follow along with them. When there is little risk in putting "things you've heard" out to the rest of the fan base why not go for it. You'll get plenty of the collaborators to jump back on the bandwagon when you get the next one right. It takes a village. -
Ahhh so the "insiders" throwing a not at the end that I must have missed. Looks like Yogi is going to return to Btown for his COVID year not

Jamison Battle - Minnesota Transfer to Ohio State
HoosierAloha replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This is what I think too. If we really wanted him we get him. He's not good enough for IU and had to go to another team that didn't even make the tourney last season after finishing towards the bottom of the Big 1.o. -
Don't have time to go back and look but there were several posts about 1-2 weeks out, next week, should be ready by X game, he should be ready, etc.

I'm not sure Gallo's ability to consistently get by 2s. If we could force a switch or if he gets an angle I like his chances. Everything is about %s both shooting and ability to get by and force rotation. I don't know how Banks or Ledlum would do on the perimeter with wings/smaller wings rather than 4s defending them. We'll see -

XJ, hopefully Gallo and who else is dribble driving with that lineup? We'll need to make sure the lane instead clogged. I don't know the %s but not feeling we'd hit at a high enough or with enough volume to draw a team out. Hopefully we get the chance to see. I'd like to add Ware and Ledlum. -

Not a bad lineup but where is the outside game coming from? Feel like that would be rather easy to defend. -

True, insiders didn't peg Battle to IU. Don't really think he fits with what we're trying to do anyways. He took a lot of shots at Minnie and doesn't come from a winning program.

It's only one target. We still have portaling options at that spot.

Ehhh? I guess if he develops as some project he could get some run at the 3. -

That is the biggest issue. How much of that talent hasn't developed? Cupps has the opportunity to change that narrative. I refuse to believe that all the evaluations from recruiting services, other staffs, and such were wrong about so many players. Do we have the culture that favors development? I don't think we have had that in the recent past. Leadership, hopefully something Cupps shares even as a freshman along with XJ returning and some portaling successes can change that culture. -

We've had enough talent since Crean. There have been major flaws with it fitting together, working hard, leaderless, etc. but it's been there. Everyone? That's a bold statement. I never said we were unique. It's absolutely goofy on most accounts. I did glance up to see LeBron flexing after a made layup while down ~16 last night.
