Yup, required over the remaining years of his contract- not all at once. And like you said, he has to "seek gainful employment in good faith" with any compensation from that salary being subtracted from the buyout.

Before the collective panic ensues, I'm not say IU has Alford lined up by any means...I'm just saying if Alford had his way that would be the case. I thought that was pretty well known. I do think its safe to assume there has been or will be a conversation in due diligence if IU were to strike out some places but that is an assumption...I guess. Also, when someone posts something like that shoot us a PM. When you quote it we have to go through and find all the quotes...longer it's up, more trouble it is

To being high maintenance...most coaches are. Crean's personality is sure to rub people the wrong way. I've told PM stories about my interaction with the guy and he is strange. None of this really matters... I guess I didn't really emphasize my point. HS coaches have little to no impact on recruiting at this level.

Has a lot more to do with AAU programs in the state than the HS coaches. There was a time when the in-state HS coaches complained about oversigning but those guys never had nearly the weight a lot of people think they do and most are over that whole thing. If they still have issues with Crean it's more about how a player was used in his system, so that should narrow it down considerably.

It isn't a money issue. Wasn't two years ago w the buyout, isn't this year w the same thing, isn't a contract thing....it's just not a thing

I've heard so much about that in home hahaha it's almost like folklore at this point though so idk even know whats real and what isn't besides Crean was absolutely livid and blindsided.
