Sure, you're talking in generalities. NBA standard measurements are generalities, they're an overall guide. I'm telling you that Mike DeVoe can't defend and it wouldn't matter if he were 6'8 or 5'2 or anywhere in between or outside. So when people throw out "I'd rather have a 6'4 PG defending than a 5'11" well, sure, if they can defend equally. But your original post said Devoe "has the length to help us build a shutdown defense." You know that because he's longer or because he's a good defender? Sorry, no need for you to waste your time here on an argument. -

My plan would be shoot for the moon on Romeo/Brown and thats about it. There is also this idea that Archie may continue to load up in '18/'19 to find his type of players and not worry about transfers.Get your guys. Like I said, the latter would not be my plan -

The idea that, individually, length equates to defensive effectiveness is quite assumptive. -

IU has scouted him. Yes, and PJ's brother (Purdue). -

PG Cole Anthony (9) Jeremiah Francis (51) Isaiah Thompson (180) SG SF Trendon Watford (13) PF Matthew Hurt (5) Keion Brooks (21) Francis Okoro (24) Isaiah Stewart (32) Trayce Jackson-Davis (102) C James Wiseman (2) Kofi Cockburn (27) Obviously, the staff is looking at more, just a rough draft. A bunch of Indiana kids who they're evaluating at this point. I'll add, but PM me if I missed more significants. I expect 2-3 on the class. -

Honestly can't remember standing next to a HM player skinnier. Cliff is step one, but agree, tons of growth needed mentally with the game. -

Honestly, a bit interesting. Word is he's been impressive this summer, jumper is consistent. And not like coach speak. I was/am very skeptical of him so, it'll be interesting for me, at least. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Yeah, gotcha. My apologies if it came off different. Just meant the Langfords have made them move on. -

I don't think RP is that guy year one or two and I'm like his biggest supporter on here. Honestly, I see no tangible solution. I don't think IU is in great shape with Garland. I don't see Akinjo as a solution early on. DeVoe isn't coming this way. Current roster, idk. Maybe impact '19 guard. -
You guys know recruiting better than this...

Think it's the other way around, tbh. Tim and Sabrina want him close -

This is sorta why it's of my opinion that PG is the most important position. IU had talent last year but no difference maker running the show. I fear IU is going to be in the same situation for two more years. -
"Then Indiana’s Tom Crean showed up. He sat through 10 minutes of our open gym, offered Will a scholarship, went back to Bloomington and he and his staff went to work, consistently and precisely recruiting him. They recruited Will like they absolutely needed him and they did it from that open gym until signing day. 1,120 career points, a Big10 Title, a few Big10 individual accolades and a game winning NCAA tourney shot to send IU to the Sweet 16 later and Coach Crean looked pretty smart. He knew what he was looking for, he saw it, and he pounced…decisively and consistently." Full quote.

I get your point, but it's perceived as the opposite. Say one thing, do another. -

Don't think I said that and like him as a player. I just think he's a SG with some ball-handling flare. Worried about handling the ball consistently. -

Non-committable offers are part of the game, so it's not like Archie is unique in the practice. But it doesn't play well according to AAU coaches, who can be very protective -

Holding pattern until fall-ish. Dominoes fall, he could go about offering. I like how it was structured. Watch a few times, eval, offer. Wish there weren't a few non-committable offers though, gotta say. -

I really don't know. I think the staff can be doing their job and him just interested in something else. Just been told UCLA is out but cool area to visit. He's serious about (4) Vandy, Duke, Kansas, UK. You only get 5 so it's up to the staff to get in there. -
2017 July Evaluation Period

Yeah that was an ironic rant, I remember that. Branden Dawson recruitment, right before that, comes to mind. Absolute elite coach but gets a pass on so many issues. Anyone here remember the Keith Appling/ Adreian Payne police report? Yikes.
