I'm going on record saying my recruiting class is going to end up garbage this year. But next season, when I have this figured out....PENSACOLA
-
Anyone start recruiting yet?
-
mine was instant. Make sure you entered the right email maybe
-
The way I read it RP's are of actual value and effect recruiting whereas PP's just prioritizes your recruits to you. Could be wrong

I'm Pensacola. My current PG is 6'8 236 lbs (freshman) and my Center is 6'5 223 lbs. We recruit a little different down in Pensacola.

I played something similar in the past. I'll give it a try

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Okay, but seriously IU needs a 1/2 going forward....like immediately. CCG instilled me not to let these get off topic, so I'll start a '19 thread...respond there, let's get it going -

Yeah, no one is saying IU has taken over. IU doesn't trail. Long way to go but in as good as shape as any -

2018 General Recruiting Thread
hoosierpap replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It's almost silly to think in terms of '19 because it's so far away, especially for the guys I'm about to talk about but it can be applied in general. IU is right there with some uber-talented, 5 star, one and dones for '19. Say IU takes two of Brooks, Watford, Hurt or Wiseman - that 2018 "foundational" class becomes incredibly important. It's what keeps the program afloat the next year when those '18's are now a year older and experienced and fills the loss when the '19 talent leaves. If Archie is able to get IU in a place where they're recruiting one to two 5 stars a year, those top 45-100 players become just as important. Fwiw, that is my ideal recruiting strategy. Obviously you never turn down talent but I think the recipe for success lies in either one to two 5 stars or borderline 5 stars. Clear elite talents, surrounded by solid, solid 2-4 year guys. -

I hope the fanbase doesn't take it hard. Sure, these kids do love IU but they were also sold on a different message and Archie is moving a different way. This happens in coaching changes. I also think Archie will cater to his core, he'd be silly not to. -

I know this is probably getting old but PG is about getting the right guy. The most important, for me. Bigs are important also, but IU is in with so many 4's for '19. 5 the staff can work on longer than they were afforded to with this class. Wiseman is still the test study for this staff but in it. I'm welcoming a debate on IU's 1's vs 5's in this and the upcoming classes. RP is better than Hunter for what IU needs. I think thats consensus, but I believe in general it's not all that close. I'd stop thinking of Hunter. Good player, I like him a lot. Combo, will probably kill IU once in awhile at Nebraska or something. -

Crean always had me hoping I was wrong. This will be the first for Archie lol I think if you see IU take a full class, they're expecting attrition and open grants for '19. I had the same worry, but was told there may be some attrition. I wasn't told who and it wouldn't be responsible to guess -

Look, I think Bloomington is awesome. I've had some of the best times of my life there. My family who lives in Indy has been taking me there since I was young. But if I ask my neighbor here in Philly about Bloomington, Indiana...they will have never heard of it. IU's campus is just not an attraction to a kid on the east coast...or west coast. IU is getting a serious visit is all I'm saying. -

I do. Also, people "visit just to visit" in places like LA, Vegas, stuff like that. You need to dig deeper into a UCLA visit. A Bloomington visit is because you're sincerely interested. -
