1. It's been quite a whirlwind of a class and it has certainly had its drama, and it will continue, to some extent.    Marvin Clark / Josh Cunningham: Interesting situation brewing here. Michigan St, Indiana, and Iowa St. are involved in both recruitments, and seem to be in solid position. Iowa St. seems to have fallen out of favor with both. I would say the most likely scenario is a split between Michigan St, and Indiana. IU is in a better position than anyone with Cunningham, and Blackmon is helping in that regard. Heard that MSU may have eased off Cunningham and put their focus on Clark, which made an impact on our position with Cunningham. Clark was considered a Michigan St lean really since they became involved. Nairn, his teammate, is there and his coach seems to be giving him the nudge to join. Things were sorta confirmed when he switched his IU visit last Sunday to a Michigan St. visit on Saturday. Read somewhere where he even said after the MSU visit that he was ready for MSU to be his last visit but IU wasn't going to let that happen. Something to that effect. Logic would imply that after IU got him on campus on Wednesday, it gave him something more to think about as he cancelled his scheduled announcement for today.   I still feel as though Clark will go to MSU and Cunningham will join the Hoosiers.     Cunningham: A bit undersized at 6'6-6'7 and, seems to be, a true 4. JC seems to play incredibly hard. Capable, but not a shooter. The better defender, rebounder, and more athletic than Clark.    Clark: A better shooter, by all accounts. Good rebounder. Versatile, IU is telling him he can play the 2,3, and 4 which is attractive to him.    Both have faced pretty good competition and had a great deal of success. Not sure I'd follow the ranking on either of these guys but, also, would not expect them to be IU's immediate frontcourt solution.   Ruben Guererro: A bit taller, but pretty lean. Believe he plays a bit away from the basket. Solid prospect, seems to have loads of potential. It could work out, it could not. Not sure how serious his recruitment is right now as he seems to be focusing on his season. He and Marvin Clark play at Sunrise and are competing to make an ESPN HS invitational of some kind. I'm confident CCG will keep us updated there.    Jackson Davis: Really coming on and may have been all season. Verbally committed to Rice, held out on signing in November, and recently decommited. Davis' recruitment is just heating up, so getting an accurate read on where he stands is probably pre-mature. I hear IU wants to evaluate, and were supposed to at least at one point, yesterday. IU have not begun "actively" recruiting. Seems IU did not make the trip to see Davis play last night, but Little Pitino, Mark Fox, Mike Brey, Rick Ray, and assistants from Alabama, UL, and BC did. Don't know too much about his game, but seems to be on the rise.        Not sure IU is still recruiting Atwood, the JUCO. I see IU bringing in Cunningham and expect them to seek a 5th year transfer. As I stated above, I don't expect any of these prospects above to be the immediate clog in the hole Noah will, with all likely hood, leave. That is not to say they will not be a welcomed addition and provide a role next year. Should be an interesting spring as we look for a 5th year transfer, and turn up the heat on a top '15 big man.    I've linked their profiles so you can see what CCG's been putting together on them, if you haven't already. What are you guys hearing/thinking regarding these prospects and this class?

I promise you, watch out for this kid Yakwe. We'd be smart to.
  3. Great get for them. Kid has a real reputation as a defender.
  4.
I don't necessarily follow recruiting as much as some of you but aren't we maxed out on scholarships for the next 2 years? How are we still recruiting? (I know we need another big man but how do we make this work?) Please correct me if I am wrong but: Doesn't each team have 13 available scholarships? We currently have 12 scholarship players - Losing 1 (Will), gaining 3 (Hoetzel, RoJo, JB Jr) that already puts us 1 over? I know we may lose Noah or somebody else will transfer or be forced out/off scholly to make the numbers work, but another on top of that? We have no Juniors this year so that means we will not have any scholarships available the next year either without more deflections (NBA, Transfer, etc)
Gordon, Sheehey, Fischer are officially open after the season. I wouldn't particularly focus on the numbers. I know that sounds odd but I would expect some of the transfer/medical hardship rumors to come to fruition. Don't want to speculate on who and why in this thread. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Looking for a source to confirm but hearing he didn't make the trip. Not sure how concerning this is given how our '16 class is, but nonetheless, always good to have prospects see the real thing.

Official Indiana vs Wisconsin Game Thread

I'd love to see Noah on the perimeter. Kaminsky cannot handle Vonleh off the dribble and has to respect his shot. And whatever the hell Dakich was trying to explain as good defense where Kaminsky plays center field on a ball screen leaves a wide open pull up with your 7 footer out of position in the case of a miss. Not sure about that by Dakich unless I misinterpreted that and he was saying it's a poor way to defend the ball screen...
