Tom Crean Update from Fred Glass
hoosierpap replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's the administration. They don't want IUBB to have the power it did under Knight or be the face of the university. This is the same mentality that led to IU looking to bring in Brad Brownell in if Crean said no amidst the state of the program. -
I cannot take Vern any longer.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Doesn't sound like a "missed the bus" situation yet -

Wow, hadn't heard that. Definitely makes sense and also heard his standing at CTK was in question due to showing up late on two occasions for games. -
Yeah Sean Miller screwed that up big time

Lol I don't know. If I were betting I'd say IU

That would be a pretty short sighted hire...Hearing Marshall

Evan Daniels @EvanDaniels Source tells Scout that John Lucas has interest in the Texas job. Could be interesting ... Thon Maker would be a lock for Texas.

Just weird because Future150 is a site CCG and I are familiar with bc it generally ranks younger classes early..so sorta weird they'd come out with bad information
-
Not sure the account was real, deleted it...just something I saw on twitter Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns Thon Maker was not at IU today. RT @Future150: 2015 PF Thon Maker (IN) visited Indiana Saturday.

Looks like Pitino is looking to move on from Minnesota -
LINK "Bryant is expected to make his college announcement in the days after the completion of the Dick's Nationals, which take place April 2-4 in New York City. His final choices for college include (in no particular order) are Kentucky, Indiana, Syracuse and Missouri." Possibly before...

Jerry Meyer @jerrymeyer247 15m15 minutes ago Diamond Stone stays in the Under Armour pipeline w his commitment to Maryland. -
Based on everything I've gathered neither were "Creaned." I'm not sure that matters, facts rarely do. The perception is that everyone who transfers from IU was forced out by Crean and that doesn't bode well on the recruiting front - especially in-state. I saw some back and forth on whether Crean did his due diligence while recruiting MH and have to say I'd side with Wayne on this one. I can't recall the exact details of the recruitment but remember talking with people who said it all happened really fast and the common thought was it was a knee-jerk reaction to losing out on Devin Robinson. I realize MH committed 3 days before DR committed to Florida, but the word was pretty concrete directly after DR's visit to UF and definitely after KJ's last ditch CV effort. I know it was pretty concrete because it got to me, which means the staff was fully aware. Anyways, best of luck to MH.

Tom Crean Update from Fred Glass
hoosierpap replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
"Coach Crean has five years on his contract," Glass said. "I don't expect him to go anywhere, and I don't want him to go anywhere." I never heard he'd be fired...so this statement is a bit of a glimmer of hope for those wanting Crean out. But I've been honest with everyone who has PM'd me lately in that I haven't heard anything for awhile. That could mean a number of different things but I'm beginning to believe Crean will be back. 41 may very well be more informed here, though.
