Big Ten Coach of Year Prediction
HoosierHoops1 replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think winning it as a particular school is harder, because by and large more teams are equally competitive, but I think teams who win now are way less comparatively "good" than teams who won in yesteryear. -
Thinking out loud about our big man situation....

We do hope they develop but neither are "supposed" to be a big man. Them developing puts us top 20, them developing and adding a legit center could put us top 5. -
The SMU game was part of that round robin "tournament". I don't think there is any reciprocity involved with any of those teams

Yep. And it's the best ever day by an Indiana opponent, from the line -
Well, yeah. I was considering Kreigh, April and Jeff, Priller
-
That's sure what it felt like, but few of us really remember our '87 team. How many points did you see Kreigh Smith score in his Indiana career? How about Jeff Oliphant? Maybe 100 between them? Put those 2 guys along with Steve Alford on a team and that's the ONLY 3 players from Indiana on our last championship team. 3 total native Hoosiers on the team and 2 of them were Aprilesque and Prillerish.

I get your point, but those other schools have always gotten good players from Indiana:Scott Skyles, Zach Randolph, Kyle Macy. For goodness sakes we were #1 in the country just 2 years ago and adding a good center would put us right there again for next season, and even if we don't we're in a heck of a lot better shape than we were in '08 before becoming #1 1 class later
-
I got 9 stitches from a customer once. Good times.
-
Coach told him to shut up and calmly stared him down while assistants "held back" Timmy.
-
What did you want us to adjust at the half?
-
We lost 4 really strong bigs in the last 2 years (3 went pro and 1 transferred) that could have been on this team. If any of the 4 had stayed our team improves dramatically. I'm not sure many coaches would have had contingencies for none of the 4 playing this season.

This can't inbound crap is getting old as hell.
-
A quality center would take next years team into the top 10ish realm.

Is IU currently reaching out to Brad Stevens through back channels?
HoosierHoops1 replied to southernindianahoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We didn't lose to Syracuse because we went through a hard practice. Hulls was hurt, Yogi had one of his worst games of the season, Syracuse had length at every position, Hanner has already taken more 12 footers than Cody did all that season and we needed that shot against the zone. Oladipo might have been our only player that didn't have a serious flaw. -
You're probably correct that he'd have matched up better against Josh smith and would have had 5 fouls to give. If Yogi had taken that 4th foul on Smith during his 3 attempt instead of dribbling away from it, the game would have ended differently. I put a lot of blame of Yogi for that failed recognition.

I think he played April against Louisville FIRST... Maybe he found out then, that he shouldn't play him against Georgetown.

She's not coming back to you once Stan is gone.

Chances are your friends are posting because they are smart ass pricks. The same reason my Uconn fan employee texted me today. Not because they are "noticing anything" but because you mentioned it and they latch on to it bugging the hell out of you
-
So... Indiana wins the 1st half by 10 and Georgetown wins the 2nd half by 10 and JT3 somehow proves he's the better coach. Only once did I gripe specifically at a coaching move. The rest was at execution.

A little more down to earth

Exactly, that's why I try to look at it objectively. It's definitely hard to do sometimes. Who would want to lose to Wichita State?
-
And it seems like people would be much more OK with losing to UNLV than to Eastern Washington...

Easy enough said online. I probably won't be here much during bigten season. I don't like the bi-polar nature of the doomsayers after a big win. -
I agree. Not so much a lessor of 2 evils for me but, at this point, pUKe has the greatest chance to run the table, so the sooner they get an L the better.
