That's a cherry-picked stat. Crean has had a five star EVERY YEAR for the past five years (since Cody came). Some of those teams were better than others. Two of them won the B1G outright, three made it to the Sweet Sixteen. Before Cody, he had no five stars here, and his best team had a soph CWat (36th nationally, a soph Jordy (131th nationally), a freshman Victor and Sheehey (140s) and a junior Verdell (121 nationally). In other words, no where near the talent or experience we would have next year (senior Josh 120, CuJo 84, DeRon 40, Justin 76, junior Juwan 100 and senior RoJo 49, Clifton 137) And that's even if we added no one else...which won't be the case.

I'd say that any win gets us to about #6, a close loss leaves us at 12-14, and only a very bad loss would push us down to about 18. A lot to gain, very little to lose here - good scheduling!

IMO, it's all an indirect Crean-bash. The theme is... everything about IU is awesome, and yet we're still not getting the recruits we should. Not exactly a direct shot at CTC, but an indirect shot toward his ability to seal the deal. Frankly, I'm not all that bothered. We have a banner contender this year, our talent level is, and seems like it will continue to be very good, and our team is composed of actual student athletes that are a joy to root for. That, and Wilkes still hasn't committed anywhere yet.

Position-less basketball has arrived at IU. This year, All of our rotation players can guard at least SG through center, or PG through PF (unless JBj doesn't succeed at guarding anyone, lol). David Beatty very much fits that mode.
