#11 IU vs #2 Kansas Game Thread
Stuhoo replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The number one freshman in the country? Jackson better not try to force the action too much; OG will turn him into a bad decision factory. -
Five star recruit Lonnie Walker seven minutes into the game, sitting behind the bench at the UK exhibition blowout vs a bad NAIA team last night. Won't keep UK from getting Walker (or other recruits), but thought it was pretty funny:

(2017) PG David Beatty to South Carolina

I'm assuming he never made it to campus? Anyone? Anyone? -
Purdoodoo vs West Virginia: played today in a 'secret scrimmage' 40 minute timed and referree-d game. The winner? West Virginia by 23.

On star power and rating service rankings alone, the superstar class that we had was the movement. That class stunk. Some of Crean's classes with much lower star power have been far far better.

Last year's class was not a glue class, it was a superstar class

So... did he or didn't he visit? -
The biggest positive of the night? For me, that is the best I have ever seen James Blackmon Jr play at IU without shooting the ball well. And that's huge.

Oooh... laughter is good medicine! A giraffe walks into a bar, and says to the bartender "The highballs are on me."

I know it's bad form to bring politics into a sports thread, but... I'd vote for him.

Ain't no press conference like an OG press conference: http://www.insidethehall.com/2016/11/05/video-indiana-players-react-to-win-over-bellarmine/

Troutman is every bit the player that Jamal Murray is: in that he's joined the club that wakes up at night in a cold sweat with OG nightmares.

Bellarmine almost beat #25 Cincinnati this week.

DeRon Davis = Special

Get that degree Tim. Get that degree soon.
-
Bellarmine is a good 15 points better than a few of the future cupcakes

Praying for doctors with wisdom and intelligence, and for some IU wins to cheer you up! All are thinking of you and rooting for you, brother.

(2017) PG David Beatty to South Carolina
Stuhoo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I guess it depends how you (and I) frame the question: Would a recruit base his college decision on how other guards at a possible destination school played against inferior competition in an exhibition game? NO. Would a recruit disqualify a school where there didn't appear to be much playing time available for at least their freshman year? YES. -
Purdoodoo is a Haas or Swanigan injury or foul-troubled game away from not being a very good team. I'd take Michigan or Ohio State over them in the B1G standings this year for sure.

Is it possible that like many of us, David Beatty streamed the IU - Hope College game last weekend, and saw that Devonte and CuJo are gonna eat up a lot of starting guard minutes for at least the next two or three years? -
As of this morning the suspension is up to six games. Purdoodoo has some nice pieces, but the heart and soul of that team last year, their absolute locker room leader, a high-class kid who played with focus and intensity (but not many offensive skills) and an All-B1G defender is gone. That team is already missing Ray Davis big-time.
