No. Not in the real world. The resources and level of federal criminal behavior that is warranted to be actually charged is so, so much greater than most anybody outside of the process perceives. Is it technically possible? Sure. But that's usually where it ends.

I think that the NCAA is far closer to "toothless" than "corrupt."
-
If they haven't been recorded by now, it's overwhelmingly likely that there will never be a way to sufficiently prove it for probable cause to indict, and beyond a reasonable doubt to convict. And I'm pretty sure that Barnes, Swanigan's adopted father, ain't gonna be talking.
-
FWIW: One of the indictees today is the Sean Miller assistant from Western Pennsylvania that has been with Sean the entire time Sean has been at Arizona. If I were Sean and Arizona, I'd be extremely nervous.

We will never know.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
To quote the sage Dean Wermer...they are currently already on "double-secret probation." -
Something like that!

Don't worry about who that is; he's already been put into the witness protection program. He's rumored to be wearing a disguise that makes him look like a liger.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

You guys may think I'm overstating it, but when the episode is finally settled...my prediction? Louisville Basketball = SMU Football -
And, Pitino's new nickname is now gonna be: "COACH #2, THE BIGGEST D!CK-SWINGER IN THE BUSINESS"
-
The only calls they would find valuable are from players' families. Instead, that tip line is gonna be filled with a bunch of calls from UK yahoos screaming about how: "Louervill gonna ged it this-a time! "

Let me try to address the NCAA's (lack of) involvement: To effectively investigate corruption the primary evidence that invariably will produce convictions is the recorded conversation between the bribe payer and the bribe recipient. The NCAA, even if they desperately wanted to, has NO tools to record conversations. None. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART: When the FBI develops predication to record, and especially when they introduce an undercover agent, the existence of that technique, and of the investigation is completely closely held; to the case team ONLY. WHen I say 'closely held', that means that other FBI agents in New York who were not on the case team had no access to case materials. The failure to do so could produce false exculpatories, and could present a significant safety issue for the FBI undercover agents.
-
No mention of any joint participation by the NCAA in the investigation at the USAO presser. To me, that means that the NCAA does not have access to case materials, and will literally not be able to proceed on their own anytime soon.
-
A coach that hasn't been mentioned yet, but I'm thinking will be: BRUCE PEARL! Already on the naughty list - now Auburn is in deep, deep, doo-doo on his watch.
-
Chuck Person is gonna take a plea. I'm watching the presser; he's gonna have to.

CW-1 is the financial adviser, who was working off a Securities Fraud charge from last year.
-
For sure for sure for sure. Doesn't mean that the evidence necessary for indictment and the public release of that information will ever be made public, though.

Maybe this could help to spell the beginning of the end for the abomination that is the "one-and-done" rule.

BREAKING NEWS: THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE HAS OFFICIALLY CHANGED ITS NAME TO "UNIVERSITY-6"

He left IUBB in April of 2014. Done - There's your positivity right there.

Hey Jason...Well...duh! Does ya thinks that Bowen was da only one that wanted to get his?
-
Hey pap...does "Hothoosiermama5" still check in on this board? I think her and Nips are dating or sumthin. :)
-
I could see it, but this investigation began in 2015. The undercover activity and recording authority probably not until 2016. Kenny Johnson left IUBB in April of 2014. Doesn't mean that Kenny isn't in big trouble, but from a statutory charging standpoint, his time with IUBB is probably off-limits. Could he tell a cooperation narrative of payments to Vonleh, Stan, or Troy from way back when? I guess so, but even that might never see the light of day. And that's if he was charged, pled, cooperated, and that unrecorded, historical narrative was released, which it probably wouldn't be.

Bruiser was at Drexel for the past many years. Nobody gets bribed to play at Drexel.
-
Only saying the others are all but impossible! No reason to think that Schilling is in the mix. Just that he's the only IUBB remote possibility.
