  1. It means that Ryan Taylor is looking to be the starting shooting guard at a power five school. It also means that if Romeo Langford does not choose IU, Indiana becomes a very, very attractive destination for Ryan Taylor. In fact, if Romeo does not choose IU, it is perfectly reasonable to assume that a Ryan Taylor commitment would follow soon thereafter. And that’s a pretty outstanding alternative outcome. 3. That is outstanding. In other words, we’ve got plan 1 and plan 1A all set.
  4. Looks like my post stirred the Romeo pot a bit. So, I’ll tell you how we’ll win next year: Size, talent, depth, experience, defense, focus, team chemistry, coaching. All those things are (undeniably?) true, and when you improve on a 9-9 B1G team with a top tier defense, wins happen. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. Archie Miller is implementing a system that will win, starting next year, with or without Romeo Langford. That’s not a knock on Romeo Langford; it’s more of a reminder that the sky is not falling no matter what he does. In fact, it’s just the opposite; there are very bright days for IUBB on the horizon. 6. Pretty sure Loyola getting it done with no five stars. Or four stars. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. On the other hand, Nips knows Jack Shi:
  8. Yes! If we are really good next year, it will be because of coaching, and because the incoming class complements returnees like Juwan, DeVonte, Justin, etc.
  9. And there you have it. I can think I can speak for all when I say..."Well said, and agreed!"
  10. Do you really believe that those are the only two basketball outcomes and choices? Villanova is poised to win their second title in three years without the slightest hint of stink. Moreover, in my opinion people who think that success in life is appropriate at any cost, including sacrificing one's integrity, invariably end up learning some hard lessons about the true definition of success. That's sounds like a platitude, but it's not. It's a hard truth that many learn with age, maturity, and perspective.
  11. Which pays off in the long run in so many ways. When you allow yourself to sacrifice your integrity, so many facets of your life are routinely diminished.
  12. Random but not revelatory opinion thought for a Friday: At this point, I'd be surprised if Romeo Langford went to Vandy. I'm thinking Kansas or IU.
  13. True, but different. Driving 5 miles over the speed limit is universally not enforced. If you drive 10 miles over the speed limit you take your chances. If an officer chooses to enforce the law no matter how much you are over the speed limit, you’ve got to pay. College basketball cheating is not as universal as “5 miles over the speed limit.“ So, if you get caught with a bad enough violation, you’ve got to pay. 14. If my kid says that almost everyone in his class is cheating on tests in a school course, I'm gonna tell him that's really disappointing; now go and study so that you can get an A with integrity.
  15. Is that a product of Bazley's age? I would have thought the G-League has the same one-and-done policy as their NBA parent.
  16. You forgot to say "j/k" or "TIC" in your post. Right? Right?
  17. Everybody doesn't cheat. Yes, it would still be wrong, but it would also be that much more difficult to hold the wrongdoers accountable. “The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching."
  18. I still get a real sense that the players who are most like Romeo, and the ones that he can easily see as teammates who he can easily connect with, are Justin Smith and Rob Phinisee. When I hear Romeo Langford interviewed and then I hear those two Hoosiers interviewed I can't help but thinking those three are quiet, serious kids who want to be on the same side of a battle.
  19. True, and on behalf of the mods I am confident in stating that you also can't say: "**h*" "*r**" "#*&**j**a" "ri(**#@h#*!" and especially not "##@s#@@a#d***" BUT, saying "fungus" "gosh" and "fiddlesticks" is usually allowed. So watch yourself, my friend! ;)
  20. Damn straight. I like that quite a bit.
  21. Jerome now plays in these high-tops:
  22. An excellent, extended profile from the quiet, less talked about, very much - top tier recruit coming to IU this year: Jerome Hunter:
