Kensucky posts a 2.4 team GPA for the fall semester. I believe that their walk-ons who are kept around for the specific purpose of raising the team GPA are included in that average. See linky for a stirring discussion by UK fans of why their student athletes don't really need to be students: https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/anyone-catch-the-team-gpa.221642/

First game at The Hall....Suggestions?
Stuhoo replied to cappymo14's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Depends how old you are. For IU authenticity, can't beat Nicks. -
Like Skal Labiasierre? Bryant did more than fine against the number one recruit in last year's class.

Disagree on one level; We start two 5 stars, and multiple four stars see heavy rotation minutes. Lack of talent will not have been the primary issue if the Crean era ends.
-
Because of the type of kid that Crean is bringing in and the relative success that he has had, I am quite sure that Glass does not want to fire Crean. However, if this year is again a disappointment, and with the buyout dropping substantially, that option is certainly on the table. Glass won't even consider it until he sees the full scope of the results by the end of March.

Bingo.

The next IU coach will likely not be someone that the board will discuss as an obvious choice, especially if Stevens lets us know that he's unavailable.

Find out please. Now.

Prediction League (Game 14 - Louisville 12/31/16)

At BLF watching warmups. Juwan looks 100%. Devonte Green in street clothes ;not out there with the team. -
For those of you who think that opening the checkbook will entice Brad Stevens, you are wrong as you can be. If Stevens is ever the coach at IU, it will be entirely because he believes IU and the college game are the best place for him and his family, and it will likely be a decision that he makes with the intention of staying for the rest of his career. The man is already wealthy beyond imagination, and as a premier head coach, he knows he will remain so, whether he is in the college or pro game.

I've seen enough to take a stab at it, though I'm not brave enough to guess game-by-game how we'll arrive at or Big Ten conference mark. Anyway, I'll go with: 12-6, tied for second with Purduedoo and Michigan (don't know why, I just think they've got enough veteran leadership to win a lot of close games). Two games behind conference champ Wisconsin. Whattya guys got?

Is Thomas Bryant going to declare for the draft?
Stuhoo replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He's said that he stayed in a large part because he is enjoying life as a student athlete at IU, and was not quite as focused on draft position as y'all might think. That might very well just be the truth! -
We may not get either, but only the message board echo chamber believes that Garland and Langford are out of reach.

^^This^^ We're betting that a third year Juwan Morgan is better than a one and done. And that is great with me. -

Apparently it very well may be enough, but playing for the defending national champs who are currently the #1 team is a pretty good option too. if I'm a Nova fan, that rationale would be quite strong. -

Lol. The takeaway from that article seemed to be that Syracuse decided that their 7-6 on probation team which just lost by 30 at home to St Johns was too high end for JTuck, especially since one of JTucks relatives just moved out of state. -

Don't get me wrong - it'd be a fantastic development. I'm usually an optimist, but I'm not seeing good news to that huge an extent! -

Impossible to know how strong CMoore's will is to defend the post before he gets here, but somewhere in one of the clips I saw some encouraging signs that he gets low and works hard.
