Prediction League (Game 27 - @ Minnesota 2/15/17)

SPECIAL NEWS ALERT: On the 247 board, the infamous HoosierTilDeath has just made his game prediction for our tilt tonight against Minnesota. He has picked...the Gophers. Does this mean that hell has froze and that the fat lady has officially sung? Methinks yes. -
Not sure I agree; JBj came to IU with damaged knees, and regular practice and game time has only exasperated that problem. Likely would have had the same continuing issues had he went to UK.

This ain't no "Jimmy Chitwood situation." Those three guys aren't very likely at all to state "If coach is staying, I'm playing."

Most Outrageous / Funniest Thing a Coach Has Done
Stuhoo replied to cthomas's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There's a guy that NEVER would have been steamrolled by Mo Freakin' Wagner. -
I believe I can say with absolute certainty that the financial implications of keeping or firing Tom Crean are negligible, insignificant, and largely irrelevant at this point in the decision as to whether Tom Crean remains IU's coach .
-
My take? It won't take nearly that bad a bottoming-out, but yes; for sure if that happens.

Rick Bozich is quite possibly the sportswriter that does the best job of encompassing the reality and the essence of IU basketball's current situation. I consider this article to be the required reading, all-encompassing, not-a-Crean-hater, objective analysis of where we're at.

And an "IU plays well and books an upset 15 point road victory" tonight? I think that'll expand the fanbase chaos even more. Do you agree?

I like Archie. A lot.

Yogi Ferrell - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (Montonegro)
Stuhoo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Deron Williams gets ejected just before halftime. Yogi running the show for the rest of the game. Williams had 4 tos in the first half as the Mavs were down 11 at halftime. Yogi is lighting it up; one point game after three. -
I read the article. While they share the same agent, the article is pretty thinly stretched out speculation. What is more relevant to me is that Westbrook is an LA guy through and through and probably isn't all that shot in the ass about many more years in OKC.

(2018) OG Emil Ekiyor to Michigan
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Maybe he thinks Frey is an ass, and that's the only reason he didn't pop for IU previously! -
I thought this was kinda interesting: A Greg Doyle article dated March 19, 2015 explaining why Indiana fans are dumber than a stump to believe that Billy Donovan would be interested in being the coach of the Hoosiers. The reason why? Now, in all fairness, the option of leaving UF for the pros was not contemplated in this piece, but the primary reason cited by Doyle was because supposedly Donovan was a University of Florida lifer that would not ever consider leaving Gainesville. 39 days later, Donovan...you guessed; moved on from Gainesville. A direct passage from that article is below...Hawhumpfh! Billy Donovan to Indiana? Because he doesn't want to be at a football school, presumably. Never mind that he turned down Kentucky, twice, to stay at that football school, both times when the UF football team was near the top of the world. In recent years UF football has slid to irrelevance. And now's the time Donovan wants to leave? Come on. People spreading that rumor don't understand how invested Donovan is in Gainesville, not just in the university community but also in the high school community. Donovan is a devout Catholic, and his family was instrumental in the fundraising for St. Francis Catholic High, which opened in Gainesville in 2004. The two oldest Donovan children went to St. Francis. The third, Bryan, is a junior at St. Francis. The fourth, Connor, will enter the school next year. Donovan's leaving for Indiana? He's not leaving for Indiana.

Crean is OK with Bryant acting like that because Bryant is one of the very few players on the team who consistently acts like he gives a sh!t. And given the relative reactions to adversity on this team, I'm OK with that.

I counted the five years before this year's disaster game, versus the first three years. I think we are basically saying the same thing. -

Though, I assume that includes a pretty crappy record for IU in '08-10, and a pretty good record in the last five years. Edit: Just checked...we are 6-3 vs Michigan over the last five seasons, 2-4 over the first three years of the Crean era. -
Just curious...why? I prefer Archie and a few others, but other than the over the top intensity, Martin can really coach a disciplined team.
