Dr. Phil? Dr. Zhivago? Dr. J? Dr. Pepper??!??

Ummmm...AD Glass stated that ANY IU alum would be offered an interview, which, according to the IU alumni association means that approximately 600,000 potential interviews could be conducted. Can you say "ten year interim Coach Elston?"
-
Hey...boards are a place to share info and opinions. Hopefully done by credible people and accurately described. Does NOT mean anyone is saying it is happening, nevermind guaranteeing so. If that is your 'freak-out standard', then commence freaking! :)
-
Too much, brother. Too much of a visual.
-
And, on the other hand, it might not be a presser today. Or, it could be a presser for the coaching decision. All three are possible.
-
Also guys, remember that this time of year with the season over a presser could be anything, including that a walk-on is leaving (and no, I do not have any information that is what it's about).

I knew it! Moderator's note: sirhoosierlot's true identity is... ... ... IS... ... ... ... ... Ron Felling.
-
When...in what context?
-
Yes. Of course latitude for potential that it's false rumor is a given for a veteran poster with credibility!
-
More, more, more Steeler. We need any other details that you can get.

Definitely NOT shooting the messenger! lol Just de-bunking the suggested importance of Dakich's message.

Dakich to Doyle: "The deal (with) Alford is done." Meaning #1: The deal is in place; Alford will be the next IUBB coach. Meaning #2: Alford tried for a deal and failed; he's done, as in 'done for' as a candidate. Dakich has covered his bases with that statement. You guys don't think Dakich is aware he could have instead said "The decision and agreement has been finalized for Alford to be the next IUBB coach."? Of course he knows he could have said that. And he didn't.
-
So...where did you hear the rumor? Not looking for the name of the person (of course); more like "how would they be in a position to know?"

Incredibly doubtful: Monday, March 20 8:00 PM Golden State at Oklahoma City

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

I would not feel bad if the JBj of the past was not back. I am extremely curious to see what a new JBj could be. -

Huge news. If rumors are true, the first direct benefit of our new coach has already manifested itself. -
Well that's different, and more than fair in my mind. I think however that many of the criteria listed by Glass other than the local ties do not favor Alford.
-
Before we destroy your list... be fair: You listed the negatives for every other candidate. Now, YOU list the negatives for Alford too. Start with Pierre Pierce and move through "everywhere he's been no one seems to have been especially been glad he was there." Once you do, he will be destroyed far worse than the others.

Yup , the best player in the whole stinkin' NBA for a year or two could play a little! [emoji6]

Aka... Janitor is reading message boards?
-
Coaches like his mentor, Huggy Bear. Pressure and warp speed. He's also pretty old for his new gig at 54.

Dakich could have very easily said "Alford to IU is done." He didn't, and he didn't define what "it" is.

Sports Illustrated Hit Piece on Indiana
Stuhoo replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I get why the piece happened. I get why the Harbaughs feel the way they do. Doesn't make it true. -
It seems to me that IU absolutely has someone in place, and possibly a less experienced but young and local guy like Holtmann or Fife in line as a fallback.
