Aaron Henry. If he keeps improving he may be a real possibility. -
(2018) CG - David Duke to Providence
Stuhoo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'm thinking she would root for Duke over Duke, if you know what I mean. -
Picture of JaQuan Lyle with his new wheels that he put on Instagram just after committing to Louisville. Big smile, "L" hand signal, and new car:

I'm gonna disagree with both of you! It is not about legality in the strictest criminal sense. (I mean, yes, prostitution is illegal, but is a barely-punished misdemeanor for the John). More importantly, the NCAA is not a court of law with due process and everything that goes with it. Therefore, the NCAA has absolutely NO criminal legal recourse over its member institutions. On the other hand, as a private regulatory body that has member institutions which decide to join it, the NCAA is able to make moral and ethical judgments over those institutions, as long as their decisions are contractually supported and do not violate basic protected class parameters. If there are moral and ethical provisions that are contractually supported? They may punish at will in a contractually supported manner.

Well...given the recruiting picture of him, doesn't appear to be an immediate relative. If he was, that would be truly notable ;)

Ouch. Unfortunate name, and not because of the university.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
They will have room for Romeo. However, a low-class mess as a headline article on the program right next to your home area is most definitely very bad news for UL's chances of effectively recruiting Romeo. -
I dunno. Seems like if they vacate the wins the penalties are pretty harsh and then some. From the Rick Bozich article on the penalties: LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — In perhaps the harshest penalties ever assigned to a Division I men’s basketball program in the modern era, the University of Louisville must vacate its basketball records from 2010 through 2014 under penalties handed down by the NCAA infractions committee on Thursday in connection to the sex-for-recruits scandal in the men’s basketball program. Louisville won the 2013 men's basketball title and also appeared in the 2012 NCAA Final Four. Cardinals’ coach Rick Pitino was given a five-game suspension, to be served during U of L’s first five Atlantic Coast Conference games. Director of basketball operations Andre McGee, who was found to have arranged the stripper parties in the men’s basketball dorm, was given a ten-year show cause penalty. The program faces four years of probation going forward, and must vacate the records from the 2010-14 seasons, which could include 123 victories, two Big East Conference Championships, and an American Athletic Conference championship. The school will be ordered to return its financial shares from four NCAA Tournaments. There will be no further post-season ban or reduction of scholarships. Louisville took itself out of the Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA Tournaments, even though the Cardinals finished 23-8 and projected as a possible No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament after they finished fourth in the ACC regular season. Louisville added to the self-imposed penalties by reducing the number of players on scholarship last season from 13 to 11 and by cutting back on the number of recruiting visits and off-campus recruiting trips and contacts by the coaching staff.

In my guesstimate order of most-likelihood: Brandon Johns: Seems like the overwhelming favorites are IU, Michigan, and maybe Purdue. We are at 50%+. Phinisee: Even if we get a superstar point, there are plenty of guard minutes and he could be the team QB as an upperclassman. I think we are the favorites here too. Damezi Anderson or Aaron Henry: I think we get an in-state 6'5" defensive minded swingman, and I think that if we push hard enough one of these two will be Hoosiers. Race Thompson: We are among the favorites. Equal or above amongst his top five. The prodigal son Romeo: I starting to see lots of reasons for him to be a Hoosier. Put us at 30% or better. Hopefully, UL gets hammered in ten minutes and those odds only get better.

Ummm...have you guys noticed which kids Archie seems primarily to be focused on for 2019? For players over 6'6": Keion Brooks 5* James Wiseman 5* Trendon Watford 5* Matthew Hurt 5* Kofi Cockman 5* Trayce Jackson Davis That would be the year we lose Juwan and by then, potentially DeRon, and Archie is not playing around. The other killer-good news? Each of those five star kids (save for Cockburn as far as I can tell) seems to already have significant interest in IU.

(2019) C Kofi Cockburn to Illinois

I'll be the first to say it: After two solid years of Peter Jurkin we might end up with Cockburn. Sigh. -
(2018) SG Eric Ayala to Maryland
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Apples and oranges. Vijay is a walk on who is the younger brother of a recent player and the older brother of a five-star recruit. He is also from in state. Eric is an out-of-state kid that doesn't have a scholarship yet, and may not be worthy of one. -
Student athletes for me please. Interest in becoming a graduate of Indiana University. Not gonna be so for all players and that's okay; a real percentage of the general freshman population doesn't make it to graduation day. But a general goal? Yes.

Agree. Pass. -
No thank you. I don't ever want a gaggle of exclusively non-student one and dones. Give me a Romeo/Juwan Morgan combo with cheese!
-
I'm always a fan of the parents accompanying and speaking for the kid, instead of the coach or AAU coach. (Except, of course when the coach is Al Durham Senior!) This has been true for all three incoming recruits this year too.
-
Don't know if it will happen, but Johns + Bingham or Thompson would be a helluva set of bigs for the '18 class. Add one of the three big-time guards we're after (Romeo, Garland, or Carey) and we've got a top ten class when you add another player or two. Am I getting a bit ahead of myself? :)

LaVall Jordan named head coach at Butler. Former Butler player about 15 years ago, assistant at Iowa and under Belien at Michigan. Last year replaced Jeter at Wisconsin Milwaukee; Jeter went 20-13 in '16 but had APR troubles. One season as a head coach; last season at Milwaukee finished last in the Horizon conference with a 11-24 record. Yikes.

No. Just no.

Watched his whole game in the Derby Classic. He has a "can't be taught" knack for carving out space when he drives, and a killer great attitude. We're going to like him.

(2019) PF Isaiah Stewart to Washington
Stuhoo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
"Inside out" strategy means very likely not Isaiah Stewart.
