Worst case scenario: Fran McCaffery's Iowa teams in one of their down years. Best case scenario: McDermott's teams at Creighton or Oats' teams at Bama. Most likely scenario? Somewhere in-between.

* with the caveat that….if Fernando never plays this year we will be a TD or more favorite in about eight games.

One of our backup quarterbacks is practically an AARP member and is a former FCS starter. It’s just that Alberto Mendoza is better than him.

Not a "mob." Lots of posters disagree with you. Both you and those others are allowed to speak their mind. Yeesh.

Pssst ... Without Jokich the Denver Nuggets would be screwed.

More like "Jah Jah Boyd has been on a college campus for 1.5 years... why in the f*** are we worried he cant be the sixth or seventh WR."

We don't have Ohio State's level of talent depth. Is that your summary point? Agreed!!

LOL. SMU had two QBs who were in a competition. Stone sucked and had an ouchy toe. Jennings won the job early in the season. Stone threw 51 passes, all in the first three games; Jennings threw 380 passes. If there ever was an example of "nothing like our situation" that would be it.

Uhhmmmm... most 8+ win teams that are relying on a top tier QB are a QB injury away from winning a few less games.

So I shouldn't say that: Tucker Devries has a jumper just like Mgbako's, Jason Drake is wearing IU gear he bought at Leal's yard sale, Jasai Miles has Malik Reneau's infectious grin, Reed Bailey has the same cheesy mustache as CJ Gunn, AND MOST TROUBLING Rod Clark is currently sitting in what used to be Armond Hill's Napping Chair ® Copy that.
-
Yes, now that Tyler Morris (not Makai Jackson) is out injured, we potentially will have a red-shirt freshman as our 6th most used WR. (Sarrat, Cooper, Williams, Jackson, Brady). 7th most used if Charlie Becker gets snaps. Goodness - if this is the hill you're choosing to gripe and die on, we are in really good shape.

Cupps is gonna suck really hard with Diebler as his coach too I would wager. So Cupps can be a comp for any player that sux bad but could be okay if they played with their hair on fire.
-
Baldwin is the only true freshman I see in that two deep. Moreover, that thing is dated - Makai Jackson is listed. Finally, there are tons of places in that thing where a different player is listed in the two deep for each position, but is not the true backup in reality. For instance, no matter which OL gets injured, Kahlil Benson will be the next player to take the field, even though he's only listed as the two deep backup for one position. If Coogan got hurt, Lynch would move to center and Benson takes Lynch's spot. Same with Isaiah Jones at LB and Same with Brady at WR.

Enright is Gabe Cupps if Gabe Cupps had never met Mike Woodson. So I guess he's not Gabe Cupps; he's hopefully Michael Lewis or Earl Calloway.

UM travels crazy-well and it isn't all that far away. I was at that game; their fans were basically undetectable in the noise. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Finally ... IU season ticket holders; some friendly and neighborly advice for you: DON'T YOU DARE RE-SELL THOSE TICKETS TO OPPOSING TEAM FANS YA BASTAHDS!!

We need to sell out the three crap non-conference games for multiple reasons: Recruits will be there It helps the team create extra energy needed to appropriately crush lesser teams Helps to build momentum, and MOST IMPORTANTLY If we don't Cig is gonna be pissed.

Wilkerson interview: Oh yeah? Tucker is a better shooter than me.

That's hand rubbing; not hand wringing. Do better, Lamar.

The first couple of months of the CDD era were most certainly not a cluster f. Head coaches and staffs don't suddenly 'figure things out'. There was always a plan and a mindset that was in action, both for good days and bad days; it's just that some (not most) fans were impatient because they didn't see the public results immediately. -
A healthy Mendoza is about as much of a guarantee as a new QB can be, for two reasons: As Lebowski stated, every single starting QB for Cig has been outstanding, and In a lesser P4 system Mendoza has already been really, really good, with his best attribute having been his accuracy. 6'5" guys with a big arm and accuracy are destined for success.

As they said long ago about Reggie Jackson, this man will be 'The Straw that Stirs the Drink.'
