Seems like a North Carolina heavy lean. Will be on their campus this week.

Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
Stuhoo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Our basketball team will easily have as much or more NIL than UT's basketball team. I like Ledlum over Battle because of leadership qualities, and because Ledlum can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, and can offensive rebound. Now that we are going to have our bigs play more on the perimeter, having multiple options that can use a high screen and play with the ball in their hands is critical. -
Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
Stuhoo replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I greatly prefer Ledlum to Battle. Best case scenario is if the staff, seeing Gunn and Banks on a daily basis, knows that they've got at least one effective home-developed rotation player between them. I'm a big fan of Wayne's use of the verb "portaling." -
I would be very surprised if Edey makes less tha $500k in NIL from Purdue. They are allowed to set it up for him to work for Canadian charities, and they have.
-
For guys that won't make it into the NBA, college ball NIL is their maximum earning potential. Purdue or UK at $1 million sure beats the G League.
-
The guy who tweeted it is an IU student who plays saxophone in the IU basketball pep band and Marching 100.

I'm guessing that you, as much as anyone, have seen Jacob Groves play many, many times. Let's assume he's a guaranteed positive locker room presence. Can he also be an on-court piece?
-
Definitely not a natural ability swing for the fences. He's a playable 22 year old that's good on catch and shoot and with a high culture/leadership element. OU Coach Moser on Groves: “Every single day at practice, he brings it,” Moser said. “Every day he communicates. Every day, he’s putting in his time on his shot. He’s an everyday guy. That’s the difference between him and a lot of guys in this generation. It’s every day. Some guys get all fired up and it’s like a New Year’s resolution. People like my age are in the gym for a little bit and then they taper off. Jacob has been every single day. “Every day, he’s on his prep. He’s getting his shots up. He’s on his nutrition. Success is paying off for him because he is every day. The word I think for Jacob is it’s been ‘consistent’ for him.”

Jordan Hulls just started following 6'9" Oklahoma portal entry small forward Jacob Groves on Instagram. Had a great tournament for Eastern Washington a few years ago, and shot it well with limited attempts while starting about 2/3 of Oklahoma's games last year. Contacting non-portal scholarship players and encouraging them to enter the portal with promises of NIL riches, some of which never materialize.

I do think that Ledlum has been at a minimum our number two target after Ware—maybe number one. Sparks is different—more like mutual immediate interest.
-
So, other than getting our #1 target and #2 recruit in the whole portal to commit, and waiting for a decision this week on our uncommitted #2 target, we seem to be striking out.
-
Ryan would be a helluva “consolation prize.” Cormac Ryan is a mature, pure catch and shoot stroke, defensive plus player. Very little ball handling but would nevertheless improve any program. Not nearly as high a ceiling as Knecht, but a higher floor.
-
Things are dire, Trish. Very very dire. Almost unfathomable sadness is our current prognosis; maybe our destiny. Wait, are you asking about basketball recruits?
-
You’d think that seeing a very similar player profile like Grace Berger as a top ten WNBA pick will be a major takeaway for Lexi Donarski.
-
That is fantastic for him and his family. Really glad to see that he’s getting home; great decision. I was skeptical but this is really good.

(C) Kel 'el Ware - COMMITTED TO INDIANA
Stuhoo replied to Chris007's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
My question is do they end their time at IU loving it completely? Lots of kids, both athletes and non-athletes, choose a school while not quite sure if they’re going to love it. Some non-athletes make that choice based on financial reasons; scholarships for academic achievement. -
Clearly a Minnesota target. ;)

Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Pretty excellent. Caitlin Clark's games when guarded by Lexi Donarski: 2022: 7-20 fg, 1-2 ft, 5 TOs 2021: 10-26 fg, 2-2 ft, 6 TOs 2020: 11-23 fg, 7-8 ft, 7 TOs
